Thanks for fixing Worldsoul Quest (+Suggestions)

So, a couple days ago I wanted to sneak an alt in before the Tuesday Reset and I went to get the Worldsoul Quest and…

My choices were Undermine and Hallowfall, but it wasn’t the sensible one where you just light the 3 small keyflames, nooo, it had to be the quest that wants the four major keyflame quests there done.

To be honest, that quest should probably be tweaked or removed. Maybe make it two major keyflame quests, because asking players to do all four is ridiculous, esp now when there’s hardly anybody there anymore. That or maybe de-elite some of the mobs there and make it 5-10 shards to activate a major keyflame because if you go there now, it’s mostly a solo effort as most of the players have moved on.

Those worldsoul world quests I often do in Azj-khet to double up on the Forging a Pact/Hand of the Vizier weekly, or the war mode sparks quest.

I go to Hallowfall for Spreading the Light, as it’s the easiest pinnacle chest for alts after the theatre troupe. It’s just lighting the 4 keyflames, but it is indeed dead in those fields. Kinda sad really, one of the better ‘kill random reavers while lvling’ areas in the xpac.

The other ‘special assignments’ areas are much worse. The cinderbees one on Isle of Dorn is almost impossible solo, and the Ringing Deeps one where you gather crystals to activate coils to go underground and kill a boss even worse than that.

In Dragonflight these world events were busier with much better engagement almost to the end of the expansion (the community feast, suffusion camp, Dragonbane Keep, the hunts), In War Within the wider world is (except Undermine) absolutely dead. It’s a noticeable shift.

There’s two versions of the Hallowfall Quest:

1 of them wants you to light 3 lesser keyflames. That’s the good one.

1 of them wants you to do the objectives that are unlocked by lighting a major keyflame. That’s the one that blows. And that’s the one that was up last week, and until this update, last week only gave you the option between Undermine and this quest.

This quest freaking sucks because not only do you need to collect 80 Radiant Shards for the four major keyflames that take 20 a piece, but 2 of the keyflame objectives ALSO want you to kill lots of Elite Mobs, many of which absolutely suck if you’re a squishy caster or heck even someone lacking a lot of self heals like Warrior has trouble with some of them if you’re not Lv80 in endgame gear.

That’s because the Suffusion Camp and the Dream stuff gave purple gear (or blues of similar I-level). These quests don’t give out purples (except for the Worldsoul quest) and you get a choice which splits the playerbase up, and most people are going to go the path of least resistance, IE, the world quests or maybe Pact.

Nobody is going to want to slave away getting 80 radiant shards so they can bang their head against the wall with the elites.

EDIT: Also, the suffusion camp was seemingly buffed to give the latest season’s gear instead of the season in which it came out, same with the dream stuff.

It will vary by realm/shard. The event areas are decently large every time I visit them on Wyrmrest Accord.

The Pinnacle Chest rewards have been updated. Only the first two of the week guarantee gear though.

Yeah, but the rewards from doing the Hallowfall content was not updated, and when you’re presented with a choice, why would anybody choose a ludicrously hard quest (like the one the thread is about) when you could either do 6 world quests or Undermine content?

The Hallowfall content needed to be more rewarding if we wanted it to actually persist like the Suffusion Camp did.

But… the reward comes from lighting the 4 keyflames, not from doing anything else there. So you just land, kill some non-elite mobs until you get 12 shards, and then get your chest and move on. There is literally zero reason to do the rest of the content, unlike the Suffusion Camp which sometimes gave you drops from the major mobs there AND guaranteed loot from the weekly chest, PLUS a mini world raid boss. That’s two guaranteed pieces of loot + possible loot from the two big elites.

And the other zones aren’t really any better… well, the Pact requires you to do everything for its final reward (4 world quests + 1 more if there’s one more there or 2 rumors)… and I’ve never really messed with the one in Ringing Deeps because I don’t defending a piece of cardboard when most classes are lacking the tools to do that well.

Oh, and BTW, was Siren Isle’s loot updated?

Didn’t pay attention myself. Only really care about the flame-blessed iron to finish buying cosmetics.

Almost all the WUE gear goes in my war bank to get dusted.

The siren’s Isle vet gear is still S1? I believe. Havent been back since I got the ring upgraded on all my alts last week.

Tbh I have never filled up those bigger keyflames to 20 radiant shards-- I’ve only ever done the lesser keyflames for the pinnacle weekly, and the smaller blue quests that are all over that Hallowfall area. Since they mostly reward resonance crystals havent bothered in a while.

The rares that spawn–yes that’s been a problem. I gave up on any reliabity of spawn rares over there when no one even bothers to activate Croakit. That whole area had more potential to be relevant the entire expansion and would like to see it updated/more done with it.

And some of the world event were just fun in Dragonflight–like the Community Feast and Dragonbane Keep. It gave some rep tewards but was fun to do, kept people coming back for a while. After the boss kill, another elite would spawn south of the keep, so it was a race to get down there and kill him as fast as possible. That’s what I’m saying. The first part of War Within world content lacked “fun” until Undermined dropped.
