(I posted this in the wrong forum, re-posting it here.)
I just want to take a moment to thank the general populace of the Alliance side of Moon Guard.
I have had people in my circle for as long as I’ve been playing WoW who have bought into “that’s the smut server,” looking down their noses at Moon Guard for as long as I can remember, and I’ve never really agreed with that, even having never actually made a character on your realm. The place with all the RP is going to have… all kinds of RP, and that’s exactly what I witnessed making a character to literally just people watch and read TRP profiles!
Y’all are lovely and it deserves to be said out loud where people will see it. Please know that you have my respect and the attention of my baby RP alt I’ve made on the sly to just… take in your culture of RP! It’s lovely and multifaceted and I KNEW I was right to view you as “the RP place” and not as much “the ERP place.”
I’ll never convince those that can’t be convinced, but I’m treating my RP character (or maybe multiple characters in the future) as an immersive, often first person camera experience of RP walking around and listening. Please know you are appreciated and loved, whether we get into conversations of our own or not!
What you’ve built is most appreciated, please never change!
When I went last friday night, it was like… literally packed. I couldn’t see the floor for all the people there! Haven’t seen that repeated since, and yes I do poke my head in from time to time!
MG is the largest of the rp realms. It has always been an active and interesting realm. Yes rp comes in a lot of flavors. From silly to fully immersive. You can only get from it what you put in. There is no wrong way. The goal is to have fun and enjoy it as a social experience.
Of you do not like ERP you do not have to participate. If you want immersive, you have to work at it. RP is like being an actor, a producer, writer and public relations person all in one.
Moon Guard does have a lot of RP going on, and that’s for the best. Just letting people be able to see RP can kind of push them into dipping their toes into the waters.
As far as observing, at 9:00 server time, there is a program called (I think) Gnome Gnightly Gnews, by the corridor leading from the Mage Quarter to the Lion’s Rest (aka ‘The Park’) district.
In addition. there is usually a market on Monday by the docks. Monday evenings. These are good places to kind of just observe and see what’s going on.
If you wish to do a bit more RP, feel free to reach out to me. I am fairly easy to find, being the weird person who RPs without TRP.
