Thank You For Your Reports

Blizzard literally does a ban wave every month of like 10 to 20 thousand. They dont just ban 1 bot at a time.

Can you please let us right click and report released corpses? These bots often come in 5 packs and release and spirit res immediately when you kill them, preventing you from easily reporting them.

Protip for people harassing these innocent bots:

DO NOT KILL ALL 5!!!

Kill the priest and 1-2 of the 4 mages.

This will prevent them from spirit ressing the entire group and going on about their way.

After the priest has released, wait about 1 minute depending on where you are relative to the GY and murder one more mage.

The final mage left standing, your job is to now CC spam him and prevent it from killing itself with mobs.

Do this preferably at zone borders to try and split kill the priest in one zone and the mages in another.

My record was juggling 5 bot packs on the border of silverpine and southshore.

That’s… not a lot at all. A few thousand would clean up Whitemane alone for maybe 3 days.

Seen the same bots for months on end, I’m sure you guys are really “accelerating your efforts”

Or just bot because obviously Blizzard doesn’t care to stop it. What’s the point of the ToS/U when Blizzard doesn’t even police it?

Seriously? This is the answer we get after bots have and continue to wreck havoc on various areas of the game and the world economy? Terrible response. There better be a MASSIVE ban wave coming with strict policing of new bots moving forward.

NetEase does 100k a week and shows the community by listing them. 10k-20k every few months from the people that make the game compared to 100k a week from the people that just run it in China. How does another company do customer support better than the one that made it?

feels like a slap in the face when people have been reporting this and nothing is happening

are you dense? what are you expecting? an instant ban for the first right click report? that would be abused.

keep reporting them pls
nothing keeps happening

I get you’re just the messenger, Kaivax. I do. That’s why the following isn’t directed at you.

We’re tired of being told we have to police our own population when nothing changes when we actively go out of our way to do so. HonorBuddy, Glider, etc. No previous bot iterations were allowed to become this rampant to the point where they literally monopolized the endgame materials markets on just about EVERY server in the world.

Arcane Crystals. Black Lotus. Devilsaur Leather. Bloodvine. Bijous/Coins. Elemental essences. Every single one of these markets is 100% controlled or at minimum majority controlled by botters. With the gold they get from those, they buy their way into the markets for Golden Pearls, Dark Iron, Elementium, Sulfuron Ingots, Lava/Fiery Cores, Core Leather, Bat Leather, Tiger Leather, upper-level herbs (Icecap/Silversage/Plaguebloom/Gromsblood being the top 4) meaning that if they don’t already hold a majority of the marketshare for these commodities, they will inevitably. The longer you let this go on the more likely it will be that sooner or later, the only gold spent on the Auction House that DOESNT go to bots will be the fee the AH itself takes.

There was a video here the other day of a magebot boosting in ZG where it literally was flyhacking in plain sight. That bot is online RIGHT NOW still doing it. I’d bet money on it.

Bots are also in the process of hoarding AQ Gates event materials on both sides so that once the event becomes active they can corner the market on those items as well - obviously at insane markups.

Even the gold economies of multiple servers are basically irreparably damaged. Greens between levels 10 and 30 are beginning to cost 10-20 gold per piece, which was one of the first signs on Retail of gold inflation spiraling out of control.

It doesn’t matter what Blizzard does at this point, it’ll be tantamount to putting a Spiderman Band-aid on a triangular knife wound. The damage is done.

Thank you for acknowledging the botting situation. I will continue to report them and I hope they can be dealt with. it has gotten really bad and you know this.

Ok, now if you guys would actually do something with our reports instead of sitting on them, people would stop complaining. I mean we wouldnt want the people we pay to have to do something.

What an absolutely empty response to the games biggest problem.

The complaint is that it takes a long time for anything to actually happen, and it feels like our reports aren’t even taken into consideration. When people are mass reporting bots, and they’re still doing their thing for weeks or even months, it feels useless to try and report them.

There are quite obviously no human GMs at Blizzard actually in game.

This was the biggest waste of time of a read I have seen in the past 10 years. How bout actually doing the job? How bout posting results like the chinese servers are doing in their wow official forums? How bout actually caring instead of making a giant convoluted statement that sounds like a political response when asked a question where it’s a bunch of rambling that doesn’t really answer the question.

This is the whole crux of the problem players have with responses like this. Yes we want more communication and transparency with Blizzard, but when threads/posts like this one are all we get after so much deafening silence - a post devoid of substance, and just word salad - it just makes us more frustrated.

We want to know bots are actually being banned. We want names being given out. We want reports. We want more frequent ban waves - or even better, individual bannings to stop bots being profitable in the first place.

Did they use a program to detect and ban them?

Or does NetEase have a lot more employees who can go through all the reports?

and we take strong actions against those who cheat in World of Warcraft. :point_right:

I am sorry but this really is not good enough. It is impossible to target and report most botters, and when bots are reported nothing seems to happen. Maybe hire some people to play on these servers and let them see first hand what is going on. In reality I imagine that you truly do not care since the bots pay for an account subscription too. #dotherightthing

I do not know but the company that licensees WoW to them should be able to contact them to ask if they have their phones. The Chinese WoW forms have weekly posts with bans broken down by retail / classic then by botting / exploits.
