So? This has been a problem for months and you’re giving them credit for finally acknowledging it after it’s destroyed entire server economies?
Blizzard response to this is pathetically too little too late.

I’m usually always happy to see a blue post, but this one kind of irks me a bit.
I think about all of the people for months now that have claiming to report the same bots over and over to no avail and it just makes this blue post feel that much more hollow.
It’s also frustrating when we were told that one of the reasons for playing classic on the updated 7.3 build was to have an easier time eliminating bots an cheating. Compared to p servers who did a much better job of taking care of bots, I’m sooo glad I gave up moon walking for this updated 7.3 approach to bots /clap /clap.

Some times you cant right click them to report.
about 5 minutes ago farming lotus in burning steps 2 horde rouges apppeard out of stealth and aggrod everything to pick lotus. they were CLEARLY bots.
they usually are in groups of 3 - 5 so they can just auto run to herb and pick constantly till they die and one of the bots will get lotus.
they sit in stealth all day and the bot auto picks herb as soon as it spawns. i cant scour ever inch of every lotus spawn point looking for stealth to report them as bots

Are you guys for real with this? A quick /who for mages in strat on Netherwind at 8am shows 50+ mages in strat, most of which are unguilded and the rest are in guilds like earth man
Earth man is a known chinese botting, gold farming, and fly exploiting guild on the server. have one of your 3 GM’s you actually have allocated for classic wow spend 5 minutes outside Strat or ZG and let us know what you find. “Please continue reporting” good one. This is just a poor attempt at saving face publicly.
Lets be real with each other for a minute because you aren’t fooling anyone. Botting is SO rampant in wow classic, that banning all the accounts would hurt the only income that Activison/Blizzard is making off the game, and that is the real reason why it’s gotten this bad without any action taken. If you want the respect of your players back, start acting like the game company we remember. Absolutely disgraceful.

So is anyone gonna talk about how Blizzard made / asked WillE to take down his most recent video of showing the cheaters in action because it made WoW Classic / Blizzard look like dog !@#$ ??? For those who didn’t get to see that video I REALLY wish you did. Showed people blatantly wall hacking, fly hacking, no-clipping through walls, in broad daylight.
Or is anyone gonna talk about how 98% of the comments in here are all screaming the same thing - People losing faith in Activision Blizzard to do the right thing, and peoples pleads for help going unheard?

I keep seeing the same bots over and over again after days, weeks, months. They are so obvious. They populate almost all zones but mainly mid-level zones.
I don’t see you doing anything about it although I report them all the time.

I am sorry but this is a constant battle - and putting the onus on the players to spot these bots is more than a little unfair.
Listen, I get you guys have no resources to fix the problem. I get that’s above your pay grade. Honestly if you need to implement tokens then just do it.
I also think there are more effective solutions - such as taking any realm of high population to full and simply locking it so no new accounts can’t ever be made, and then purging all the bots over the next few weeks. Then leave them LOCKED.
Second you can make authenticators an ABSOLUTE requirement. No Authenticator means your account gets locked until you set one up.
Two steps and you have eliminated bots on all the Full/High pop realms.

I was wondering where that video went. It was rediculous.
This is actually what a majority of Korean games do. They require an ID from Korea to play the game. If Blizzard required everyone to link a real life ID form to their game account, they probably would end almost all botting and a significant amount of cyber bullying plus racism in one swift movement.

So one vague statement on your “efforts” to remove bots and a few paragraphs about how the paying customer can do it instead.

Address bots or the community will head to the highest quality private servers. If I’m considering it I’d imagine many are.

What a joke.
We all know that our complaints are sent to a Malaysian call center with 6 employees that don’t have the tools to do anything about it.
It really shows how much respect they have for this community when they can’t even bother to proofread their posts. This post looks like it was written by a fifth grader.
so about classic wow bots it takes on average about 16 days to level to 60 but we see these 60s bots just doing their thing for weeks or months and by the time they get banned the damage is already done players cant quest or gather resources and the economy suffers then these guys are already leveling their next bot
and the game remains unplayable and unfun for players like me
do bots get banned? yeah but to solved this major issue you guys will have to do what you do faster and more frequently or find a permanent solution or classic will just die out

Their team of agents is a bot that uses furry-talk to respond to tickets about bots.
