This rework has been almost everything I could have hoped for.
I finally get to use my AEO abilities instead of them being tuned worse than my single target abilities cleave talents.
GONE is the dead global of D&D that my tank would immediately move out of.
As a breathe HATER i like this new breath since it doesn’t disrupt my rotation to just smashing one button.
Finally there are tunning nobs for Single and that don’t effect AOE.
Rime still needs a lot of talents but does feel great to hit for the damage and the EWR reset.
I cant believe the RM reset made it 2 seasons but I’m glad its gone and can now finally be tuned correctly. A worse DK could pars way higher due to getting 2-3 resets.
New ERW is a god send. Makes the spec play so much smoother and the old was way over nerfed in PvP.
FWF should have always been 1.5 and stun. Damage is still weak for the CD.
Some PVE critiques would be Obliteration feels like to much of a core part of the spec at this point it should be the talent under Pillar. There’s still a few talents that bring very little (about 1% overall) like Howling blades, avalanche, inexorable assault (needs a way to build charges). Frostbane is a cool idea but i think just a wake of ashes type ability would be better. Remorseless winter still requires a lot of talents to just be mediocre and need its own capstone talent.
PvP critiques - Deaths cold embrace needs to go. Its not fun to wobble around as the DK and its not fun to place against. FDK is one of the last melee specs that don’t have a heal cut and has to do 20% more damage to compete. Maybe just razor ice is a stacking heal cut or a talent that make KMs put a stacking heal cut. We are also just way to squishy and feel like we have way more things that counter us. Physical damage like monk, feral, war still melt us while mages, evokers, and decent locs kite us.
