We took a 8% nerf before the release for no specific reason. Now I know it.
We are on the bottom of the bottom in the DPS charts for mythic raiding. If we didn’t get the 8% nerf, Windwalker would actually be usable! Can you imagine that?

MW could use some buffs too. Far as I can see nothing in the 11.0.5 patch is going to help either.
Revival feels pretty insignificant now. It needs a big enough buff because for a pure HPS class it feels bad.
Re add our avoidance and/or healing + buff/auras back.
Life Cocoon is being eaten up in a second again and is about half my hp. They finally made it beefy enough in DF and then gutted it in TWW. Either buff life cocoon’s absorb so it feels useful to press again, or give it a DR element.
Square root scaling on invigorating mists needs to go. It feels bad, especially with how zen pulse works now. You want more renewing mists for zen pulse but also less renewing mists to not nerf your invigorating mists / ren mist+vivify cleave. Silly design.
Conduit hero tree CD is still broken and sometimes unreliable as a cooldown when it just stops. Feels really bad after you set up your chi harmonies/env mists and it fails to do anything past the first pulse, then you have to pop revival to catch up or celestial. ( which you might have needed next/soon )
Sheilun’s needs to be buffed, maybe just re add the mastery proc on each person.
Un-Nerf Evoker’s Delight.
One mythic parse, and it’s green. The spec’s performance is the least of your worries.
What do my individual parses tells about overall spec performance? So the spec is bad but I can’t complaing because I don’t have orange parses?
That guy is a complete troll. It’s best to just block him and move on. You won’t get a civil discussion from him. He just talks at people, not with people.
Destro, fury, sub, frost mage, all below WW. There is also like 11% between the top and bottom, which is relatively balanced given the number of dps specs. Could WW use some help? Sure, but the idiotic hyperbole from bad players on these forums is asinine.
Any argument trying to call out “bad people” not using your main to post on forums is invalid.
And? I don’t know what’s your point. Literally all the classes you listed would be chosen over a windwalker monk in blank utility, both on mythic raiding or mythic keystone if one of each class is already present on the team.
The actual difference between Windwalker Monks and the top DPS specs is in the range of 9.6% if you shrink the percentile to top 1% (best players of each spec), which means again that the whole 8% nerf wasn’t necessary, and that is the thing I’m talking about in this topic.
I don’t think Monks should ever get nerfs unless it especially egregious. When was the last time monks were disruptive to the meta and balance?!
Shadowlands Season 1, to be specific. And we weren’t super OP in dungeons, it was just because our burst windows aligned in 2 specific dungeons.
In Shadowlands Season 3, a famous MDI streamer said he prefered to run 2 players of the same spec than running a windwalker monk again. I haven’t followed the Brew/Mists situation in MDI though.
Shadowland was fun. Wish we had Aoe Monk was always an aoe class now we do better St than aoe
Calling something the
when they are in fact not bottom of the bottom makes you nothing more than another forum lemming.
Maybe it was a little misleading, yes, but if you exclude the word “charts” from my statement we are on the bottom of the bottom. Again, utility+dps wise, anyone would prefer to run the classes under us than running another monk.
Yes, we need buffs. And so do other specs, but this is a monk forum.
And, for the last time, this topic is a rant of the not nec needed -8% nerf.
Hope this is addressed tomorrow or I’m moving to Shaman full time.
If I could tank as a Shaman, I’d do so immediately. Shaman visuals are amazing and Enhance felt smooth on the PTR.
