Thalassian

'Dorei.

Dorei has been the unique elven nomenclature in warcraft for well over twenty real life years. It stands out entirely from every setting. When a Warcraft player sees it, they know what it means.

And in the alpha, it’s no where.

There are so many npcs just named ‘Thalassian ’. Gotta get rid of the dividing lines. Make it so you “”“Can’t tell a blood elf from a high elf or a void elf”“”, as if strong cultural dividing lines like THE PURGE hadn’t been set.

Blizzard will make Silvermoon truly neutral For the Alliance by the expansion’s end.

Rip the Horde.

If they’re called Thalassian rather than Sin/quel/ren’dorei then they better become a major naval power.

I think they should dial it up even more. Have all other Elves (including Naga) labeled Non Thalassian. Go big.

The Thalassocracy of Silvermoon.

Good. Hopefully. End the stupid faction divide.

You joke, but the absence of ‘Thalassian’ has meaning now.

Indeed, this term only makes me think of the sea.

Though I am fluent in Greek, sister. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

lol

I think you’re the first to know that.

I’m actually happy with calling them Thalassian… every new week we get another 'dorei to the point where it’s ridiculous when they are literally the same race.

My favorite ‘dorei out of no where are the Fal’dorei.

At least they are actually a new race. But the whole High/Blood/Void elf thing is tiring.

I think someone did that because they know of the language and forgot the other descriptor. Thalassian is the language, not the race.

Thalassian might be sort of like, let’s say, French, in that it describes the language but also stuff that is French. Like French wine, French people, French cuisine. French fries.

I say that because the Paladin Mount is called a Thalassian Charger.

Yeah I think it is pretty much like that. These things belong to people that usually speak this language.

Also if you look at Wowhead, Thalassian was used as a description for unnamed NPCs going all the way back.

Quel’thalas for the Thalassians. Horde and alliance both are nasty and unwelcome.

Being that it was the Forsaken that helped drive back the Scourge, I don’t agree. Horde is more than welcome since Blood Elves have been in the Horde for 19 years.

You’re welcome to associate with disgusting corpses and smelly savages over in Kalimdor, a desolate wasteland we left for a reason.

And it was the Alliance who stopped the Horde from invading Quel’thalas.

Back before Anasterian became angry with them for not prioritizing elf concerns and left with most of the High Elves.
