Texture Flickering

Hello,

I am experiencing a strange flickering with what seems to be textures, or particle systems.

For example, the waterfalls on the side of the temple in zang will flicker blue, or some times various things around the world will turn solid green. Its a recent development.

This has been happening to me frequently. I play on my laptop and on my desktop.

Sometimes, they’ll go away after a game exit, and rebooting the game. Other times, they persist. Wondering what it is?

Drivers are up-to-date.

Hey, Fallingleaf! Thanks for including the specs here! We’ve seen some issues with the newer drivers for Nvidia. Usually, switching to DirectX11 helps or reverting the drivers to the 442.50 drivers from Nvidia.

@Kiekö, would you happen to have a Nvidia card on the laptop and desktop as well? If so, the recommendations could help with the texture flickering issues.

@caterpepi,

Thanks for the reply.

Sadly, I looked into the issue myself trying to trouble shoot the issue, and i came up with the same solution. That being said however, i was already set to dx11.
I have swapped over to dx12. If you have any other suggestions please let me know.

The system i am running on is not very old, maybe a month.

Thanks, Fallingleaf! Would you have any luck with reverting to the 442.50 drivers? With the custom install, it should give you “Perform a clean installation” option.

Could you provide a DxDiag file? Copy and paste the text file created and paste it between two ~~~ like so:

If you have issues pasting here, use Pastebin and post the end of the link. (ie. 123456 for pastebin.com/123456)

I have been experiencing this as well since getting a new laptop. Waterfalls will turn blue, sometimes I get a solid bright green on landscape and a new one today but I had a hand full of armor items flashing like a strobe light. Fresh install, addons or no addons, and graphics 1-10 have no impact. It is mostly intermittent but there really isn’t a single session that I don’t have some kind of nuisance graphical anomaly crop up.

I have these same issues. It’s usually some piece of armor or greenery on trees. The only thing that consistently works for me is to drop down to dx11, which is not a great a solution, but at least it prevents headaches. I have a 1080ti, and i7-8700k

Hey there,

I noticed the device is using 445.87 drivers version. Did we get a chance to try the older 442.50 drivers mentioned by Caterpepi in this post?

Hello Kaldraydis,

No. I was waiting back to hear to see if it was needed or not. That being said, after a few more days of play i have not noticed the same issues.

I think we can move this ticket to resolved, and if any further issues arise, i can reopen it (after trying the above suggestion).

Thanks for the help.

Hey Fallingleaf, I’m happy to hear it! Let us know if there’s anything else we can help out with.

Happy gaming!
