Or needs to stay if you ask the majority of the player base.
@Kiwi Of course balance has something to do with all of this. If there’s equal amounts on either side, the queues are shorter.
Smooth brained horde.
Sounds good, glad to see it showed as postive.
Please put it back and put in anti premade code.
8 bgs today, 20minute queues each
7/8 vs alliance premades. The system is broken.
It’s funny how these Alliance commentors can’t see past their own problems. Even when Blizzard try to fix a problem that is specific to horde, they still complain that it doesn’t solve their own issues.
News flash: this change does not directly affect faction balance. TBC is well under way, and everybody has already chosen their factions. Nobody new is gonna start and choose Horde because of this change. That’s not how it works.
Instead of spending your time complaining about a change that fixes a major problem for the Horde and has effectively zero negative for you, why don’t you try and get Blizzard to implement free faction changes? Not sure even that would help though, because most Horde wouldn’t wanna leave their friends to play with you salty bastards.
Who cares if alliance pvpers reroll horde. The alliance is doing fine according to blizzard but if you think they don’t need to exist then feel free to reroll.
I mean, not NO ONE. I know a few people that have switched and I personally switched as well with a friend and my brother.
The irony here of your first statement is completely lost on you.
The problem is
- Blizzard not limiting faction sizes on a per server basis
- Horde stacking on pvp realms
Now their bandaid solution only promotes everyone to stack the best faction (horde). It won’t be over night, won’t be in a month, probably won’t be in 6 months, but before classic wrath you’re going to have 70-80% Horde.
Everyone here wants blizzard to actually try a change that helps faction balance, not this one that destroys it.
" Close to 50/50 ". Did you happen to calculate Alterac Valley? Pretty sure AV is 95-5 Horde. Move the spawns noobs.
Why not just give the actual numbers? " Close to 50/50 " is sus.
And, of course it’s gonna be close to 50/50 when horde are fighting each other. LOL like what?!?!? Why even focus on win rates? No one brought up win rates.
Narrator
“It wasn’t 50/50”
You normally wouldn’t but when the other side happens to have all the advantages… well… makes it hard to want to stay.
So can you comment on the fact that after this test the Alliance is now a dead faction on multiple servers?
quit jerking us around and turn it back on. zero reason for it to be off.
Like a lot of players, I was really looking forward to TBC PVP. This really might be a deal killer for me because it really will kill off the ally side pvp community, which is on life support as it is. I’m not gonna spend time or money rerolling.
Turns out no changes was right all along because Blizzard just isn’t competent enough to be trusted.
Just implement free faction changes to alliance side. That solution solves both problems at once.
This change and the “faction-balance” changes you suggest are not mutually exclusive. You can have both. Whilst the factions are imbalanced, it only makes sense to implement same-faction BGs so that the bigger faction doesn’t suffer in terms of queue times. However, I do agree that they should then look into fixing the core problem of faction balance. But that doesn’t mean that this change isn’t needed.
The problem I have is that you guys see this change as a personal attack on your interests, when it isn’t.
I’m sorry but Blizzard has access to the data. We do not. I believe their data.
They said from the start it was a test and they are looking at the data. That’s enough of a reason for it to be off right now.
Now they are updating people who are concerned saying it is going to be tested again.
The battleground queues are not very long right now so you can still play.
No it doesn’t.
There is no reason they can’t do actual faction balance related options first other than an incompetent or poorly staffed dev team.
Going nuclear and giving the dominate faction everything it wants while watching the other whittle away slowly gives us Shadowlands where the faction balance is 80/20.
I don’t want Shadowlands, I want TBC.
It’s not a personal attack. It’s a complete disconnect. Alliance weren’t concerned that this change would impact their w/l ratio or world deaths while it was being tested. Their concern was actually implementing this with no system in place to prevent or improve decaying faction imbalance. They don’t seem to hear us.
ah well congrats horde. hope you get this so you can finally have fun. you all deserve it
