Is there a way to test out a covenants abilities before you switch to it?
Just wanted to see what I’m getting into if I switch 
You can go to their station in Oribos and right click each representative NPC and ask for more info about them which does indeed allow you to test abilities.

It only lets you test in a dummy though. Not the best test for some classes, but it is a test.
The best test, also the longest sadly is full story run, limited side quests and almost no dungeons to get longer play on them.
you want to watch the xp to make sure you don’t cap out at 60. At 60 no tof turned on its time to run till the end of revendreth.
Gets you more minutes in real game play. So you can see how you like em.
