Problem with the damage nerf across the board doesnt fix the problems existing… yes you nerfed the hell outa burst but now classes that would do damage does even less and the offenders of being overpowered is still there. Shamans, priests, and druids are borderline unkillable, Hell shamans are so over powered they single handedly make me think I am playing the wrong class due losing to any combination of that class, log, maces shield w/e, if there are two priests… prayer of mending just bounces off of them and they simply dont die with that alone, druids in bear form just regen hp like crazy (idk the name of the ability that does it). You cant just do these awful one fix em all patches, you really have to look what is going on and then do something according to whats going on… and dont even think of adding resilience to the game, its a HORRIBLE stat mechanic to WoW.

My issue is that good pvp’rs like myself are NOT having an issue with the changes. This is literally the best pvp SOD has had since launch.
Were still killing people. Were still capping flags. Were still using our CC, dispels peels ect. You guys aren’t… You know how I know you’re not using those things?
Because you’re on the forums crying that it takes longer than 2 seconds to kill someone.

ok maybe i win more duels 1v1 but the game is unacceptably atrocious in random bgs, everything changed and there is too many bug to fix, just revert it completely before everyone leave for cata, because of your scientific test lol abort! abort! thanks for trying blizzard but it looks like any dmg reduction affect too much the gameplay, becose it become another game like retail or wotlk or tbc but with tons of bugs to fix u guys would need a year +of tweaking LOL

I think the devs just love big numbas. 4kk on bosses that turned into 1kk a week after kinda hint on that.
Guys, please stop talking in these terms. The current “solution” is flawed to begin with, so simply altering the percentage won’t fix the problem. Shadow Priests will still have their ridiculous 25% damage increase in shadow form (and the OP damage, control, and survivability). Balance Druids will still be able to kill you before you get anywhere near them. The list goes on.
They will have to actually do some analysis and work if they want balanced PvP. Since I highly doubt they’ll do that, PvP will continue to suck. At least before Friday, I knew games would be over in a reasonable time and I’d get decent honor. This is the week I needed 110K honor to hit R7 on my alt and I went from about 3K honor per AB to 800-1.2K honor per AB. People’s time is valuable.
As a fully geared competent pvp’er (all i really ever do is pvp) this change is currently bonkers for spell damage. No one is talking about how spell dmg is nerfed more than phys. I’m very well geared and can sit and apply 4 dots and haunt onto an enhance shaman just sitting there. He currently can out heal all of that damage by pushing riptide on cooldown, nothing else, just a single heal + HoT when not even spec’d to heal. I would have to hard cast about 17 shadowbolts to kill him. I’m all for a little balancing and maybe small DR, but this change is a huge nerf to anyone dealing solely spell damage. It’s crazy overkill. The people not sad are physical dmg dealers because they essentially got a huge buff by not being nerfed as much and ALSO not having to deal with mana.
…and whack, whack you are still dead after 2 auto attacks.
Healing classes, all specs, and Lock SL, SPriest etc. are all overtuned. Battlegrounds aren’t more fun.
As a rogue, I find 1v1 vs DPS very rewarding now, less RNG, fights play out well. But as soon as the above mentioned are thrown into things it sucks the fun right out of it.
This flat damage reduction feels absolutely awful. I don’t know what you guys are smoking, but if you can send your supplier’s details to me or the nearest ATF agent, I’ll be happy to get rid of it so ya’ll can open your eyes.
A flat punishment for everyone isn’t what’s required. It’s fine tuning. If you’re not going to fine tune the things you break, then all you’re doing is drawing out the fights - which is already terrible - and intrinsically buffing healers, who don’t need help.
If you’re worried about people getting one shot, then look at the abilities and combos that are 1 shotting people.
Can you imagine warriors, the current worst contributors to PVP, getting a flat 50% damage nerf to their already trash abilities? Now, against a person they’ll die in a 1v1 within 5 seconds, it’s now a 10 second drawn out fight, where their auto attacks are undone by a single renew tick.
This is a massive buff to ranged classes too. If melee classes - already incapable of yolo-charging/disrupting ranged packs - aren’t able to even pressure one person because a hunter, priest, balance druid, mage, and elemental shaman have the survival tools to already survive burst from the previous damage reduction, there’s no point to being a melee class.
It’s incredibly disheartening to see wide-ranged punishments on all classes, when fine tuning is what you need.
Accept that this assymetrical game mode isn’t balanced, let a melee 1v1 a healer, and stop trying to turn this into WOTLK. Christ.
The whole point of playing Season of Discovery was to enhance the classic gameplay style with an array of play types and variables of talent points - blanket damage reduction will do nothing more than enforce a meta and eliminate the availability to play in variances of slightly off-meta specs.
If we are going to be moronic about blanket applying changes at a variable five times greater than what they originally acknowledged failed miserably - we could at least make every zone a contested zone while we are at it.
If the idea was to “Cool” down damage scaling, we’re sitting at 0-Kelvin.

No offense. But any good warrior is rejoicing right now. A properly specc’d and geared warrior completely decimates with this Damage Reduction meta. My entire time was QQ’ing they couldn’t kill efc last game. I walked up to him - loaded 5 sunders, and busted his rear.
Before that I went 21-0 in a pug.
And basically every game I’ve played has been like this.
Problem with this forum is that 0.05% of the people who post here know anything whatsoever about proper pvp. So blizz is testing on clueless animals. smh.
