Testing Adding Damage Reduction to PvP

Basically people who don’t bother to stack stamina. Probably running around in garbage gear crying that they got oneshot. But in reality that is the game working as intended. People who actually had good gear were living just fine in fights. Proof here:

One of the best rogues and hunters I know. The duration of that fight was perfectly fine. Nobody got oneshot, nobody died in a permastunlock, everyone had a shot to play and win. This is level 50 combat, before this absurd damage nerf got put into the game.

this dude def 65+… cant react properly and has straight up greens for gear.

But dispersion and pally bubble are totally fine?

Cloak has an innate counter, because it only protects against spell damage. In a group play its not OP at all. Just have the warrior chunk them down as if nothing happened. Oh they want to pop evasion? Nice now you get infinite overpower procs.

What do I do against paladin bubble? Best I can do is run away. But if they popped the bubble as a defensive to survive at the moment of their death, me running away is exactly what they want. So now they get healed to full by a healer and the fight starts all over. Same with dispersion. Or even an iceblock. There’s no way to kill players that pop these “LOL CANT KILL ME” abilities. Yet they’re balanced… and cloak of shadows, where you can still kill the rogue is not ok? LOL WUT

That’s exactly what you do run away go invis restart fight and win. I don’t even understand your problem. Bubble you sprint pally has no way to catch up to you or you vanish restart after bubble win. You make 0 sense. Are you sad you have to wait it out instead of just steam rolling everyone?

How do I run away, go invis, and restart the fight when I’m taking DoT damage? If I had cloak, I could do as you wish. It’s almost like you don’t understand the imbalance in this situation.

In a 1v1 maybe a rogue can restart a fight against a paladin that bubbles. But this game isn’t designed around 1v1’s. The second I’m out of stealth INSTANTLY 2-3 dots get put on me, with a side of faerei fire and hunters mark because nobody wants you to restealth ever again.

There shouldn’t ever be a top or bottom, the fact there is is proof of an imbalance. Having a game where only 3 classes gets to have fun is a worthless game I don’t want to bother playing tyvm. And the longer SoD stays in this state the quicker it will die. Noticing less and less players logging on these days… please keep encouraging the devs to kill your game faster I guess.

Also I literally showed you how to counter this ability you’re so scared of and you just ignore it and go “LOL DUDE MAD” like if you aren’t going to argue you’re just trolling and will get reported.

The issue is not white damage at all, but rather spell damage being overscaled. They managed to fix attack power scaling with Shamans recently, it’s not a hard ask to fix.

They KNEW it was not going to work after they tried it before at 1/5th of the variable, the test time should in reality have been AFTER the BG weekend, between Tuesday and the next drop of a BG weekend on Friday morning.

Please for the love of god do not keep this or anything even close to this in place!!
At the very most a 20% reduction would suffice for boomies, but leave the rest of us alone. Other classes could be fixed quite easily, like by giving dispersion a longer cool-down in battlegrounds (they need the short cd in stv and pve). This blanket nerf has essentially has made Druids, Warlock and Paladins beyond broken. I’d say Shamans are too but I havent fought one just yet.

I mean this is the same dev team that sees shadowpriests dominating PvP. Then their ultimate solution to fixing SP’s underperforming in raids is to go: “Hey, lets just buff SP damage across the board by like 20% lololololol”. When the real fix would have been “Hey, maybe we should lower shadow resistance for NPCs in ST so SP is a more viable dps class to bring to raids. Then PvP would be left alone.”

this feels exceptionally awful, I tried several BG’s and just hated it. rogue (in classic) has no cloak, it just isn’t made for these clunky long fights. healers are insanely strong, as everyone noticed (or even just hybrid classes spamming heals kek). remove this horrible atrocity, FIX SHADOW PRIEST (they’ve only been the best/2nd best pvp class 2 phases now!) by itself. this just seems lazy. oh also

GIVE US A PROPER VERSION OF SHADOWSTEP FOR THE BALLS OF THRALL this no z-axis on gcd bastard child version is just repulsive

it is still my firm belief that aggrend and the other classic devs are trying to sabotage classic (actuall classic, not whatever sod is) and ruin its image while also stream-lining retail garbage classplay and systems (see 50% dmg nerf and incursions) to get players funneled into playing the war within and beyond retail expacs (metzen bragging how it would have a classic feel)

If metzens idea of classic is the atrocity aggrend has delivered to us then i can safely say that TWW is an easy pass.

I can only assume that changes to the game are decided by some demented manager who has never done a calculation in his life, slamming this huge of a damage reduction across the board can only be interpreted as throwing their hands up in the air and telling every class without a self heal to just fall off a cliff and die. I think that the SoD development would be in better hands if they just let kindergarteners take the wheel.

Yea this is what happens when you actually PvP and don’t play a crap meta where you press 2 buttons and everything dies lmao.

Classic WoW doesnt feel like its known for its skill based pvp, faster death timers means newer and more often fights rather than a slog that drains you down to 0 mana. Flat damage reduction slows the game down tremendously ensuring that after every fight you must reset with food and class power fantasys removed (rogue) from pvp entirely, in the few warsongs i could push myself through this weekend i felt like it was more rewarding to just ignore the healers entirely and run by them because lord knows im not ever going to be in a position to catch let alone kill them.The Damage is overtuned on some classes yeah but were not even max level and this is how SLOW pvp feels, i cant imagine what 60 pvp will look like with new runes and stam stack.
