No it’s not. It’s boaring. All the BUMS are happy because they think in slow motion.
my takeaway…healing mages are 1v3 easily…ret / rogue / sp could not kill it…shaman tanks…1v5 people outside gadgetzan…tanks and rdps that can heal are now juggernauts and unstoppable…what this does is completely obliterate mdps classes…I think maybe 25% or other buffs / debuffs…but a 50% is pretty drastic.
I’ve played a couple matches today and I’ve got to say this feels worse than before.
Healing is simply too strong 1 heal undoes the previous 20 seconds of fighting.
Since time to kill and fight lengths have gone way up mana is a huge problem for DPS classes now. People simply live longer than your mana bar lasts.
Some classes are silly with the amount of self healing and sustain they do now, like Bear Druids and the frenzy regen rune. Chronostatic preservation has become Lay on Hands without a cooldown.
As a Warlock I thought this change would benefit me being the tanky slow burn whittle people down while outlasting them caster but I feel very weak.
My dots now don’t do enough pressure to force any reaction and since the fights are taking so long I’ve having huge mana problems and basically killing myself with lifetap just to be able to buy some time for fear/drainlife/curse of tongues.
I really felt like they should of just toned down the damage from Shadow Priest, Rogue, Balance Druid, Hunter and Destro Locks and we would of been most of the way there.

I don’t really like the way PVP feels now. It’s way too slow. Maybe try like 25%. This also indirectly buffs hunters (viper sting) and nerfs mages (very mana dependent). Self healing is also substantially stronger now.
This change feels scuffed, balance is still wildly out of shape, and now PVP just feels like a slough fest and honor grind feels infinity worse. and making it a global is even worse imo. should have tested the changes in Battlegrounds or world, but not both at the same time.
its awful lmao. resto dru went from pretty fun to just lifebloom being enough to keep most people up. r.sham only fun in a decent WSG.
i’ve seen enough, gonna level an alt over the weekend i guess. healing has never felt so low stakes in pvp before lol.
50% damage reduction is way too high, and healing should probably be reduced by a similar amount. That will slow combat down, without making healing overpowered. 20-30% damage reduction would be far more reasonable.
just 15-20% damage reduction no need for healing reduction. its actually crazy to me that they would even “test” 50%. like there was any possibility it wouldn’t be terrible.
Yeah I dont see this damage reduction as enjoyable for many players.
Group fights are distilled down to mana wars. People are just doing their pve rotation until healers oom. This coming from a healer, I hate it. I dont really care about 1v1’s but I can only imagine that isnt enjoyable either especially if you are fighting a hybrid.
Devs need to find a damage reduction value between this, and the one shot fiesta we had before. We dont need a full weekend to test this value, lets go ahead and tone the damage reduction, and see how it feels the rest of the weekend.

Shaman are OP (they get FREE no MANA heals + riptide + tank) and STILL DO insane damage. Feels bad

Blizzard making these changes right before peacing out for the weekend. Feels irresponsible.
PLEASE keep this, but make some adjustments. As someone who has been primarily a PvP player since OG vanilla, this change has felt so good. I main a feral, before this change it was so frustrating trying to play BGs. Just a few of the many examples, but paladins would 3 shot you, and if they had bubble there was no shot at even living unless you just ran. Hunters after their most recent buffs would just sit there and spam 1.6k chimera shots. Big numbers are fun, but so is being able to play your character for more than half the BG. People living longer means more potential for outplay. Before these changes I had to respec boomie just to farm honor since being in the mix without heals was just a graveyard simulator.
Heals need to be toned down now as well, every BG ally have 5 or 6 healers after these changes and that’s not really fun to play against either. Also since hunters are living longer their traps are just covering the BG and the RNG root they have is extremely toxic. Even as a feral I have to shift in and out of three traps before they die and then I’m just OOM. Great change over all, but other issues have popped their head up. It can’t just be a blanket change.
This feels terrible. Why would you revisit something that has already proven not to work? Last week, the team asked on Twitter for suggestions just to push out some real head scratchers. Both that & this most recent “pvp experiment” just feel lazy. It’s not particularly fun growing in player power just to get significant nerfed in certain situations. Really fumbling the ball here.
I unsubscribed because if these are the decisions the SOD team are making, then I don’t have much faith in the future of the game mode.
right now in the game i feel like, i am out of mana all the time in bgs, they should implement also a mana reduction on dmg spells, i dont see why it was not yet there tho, i hope theres something coming very soon for that becose right now my sham ele is almost useless
They pretend to ask for feedback because they know a huge chunk of players will be tricked into believing that their opinion matters. I can’t tell you how many posts I’ve seen since SoD launched with people defending the dev team because they are “engaged with the community.”
Yeah, pretending to listen and then going a completely different direction without a coherent explanation is great. Remember when they got rid of GDKP? I definitely haven’t seen any bots since then lol.

Paladin on Lava Lash here. So I was actually tracking my honor per BG, including marks from wins vs. losses. I was averaging close to 3k an AB match before these changes. As the WSG weekend started I switched over as the changes took place.
Let me tell you, this was the most unproductive and frustrating day of pvp in my life. The lack of any burst potential made ret pally unplayable, I fought the same boomkin 4 times and he ended the fight at 100% HP every time. In 7 matches I averaged below 1,000 honor, one match the entire team got 1 HK as we gave up, another match myself and most the team got ZERO HKs as we simply could not beat the enemy healing with out comp. It was absolutely awful. There is just no chance against any class that has healing or kiting potential. My exorcism hits like a wet noodle, my HOJ and Repentance feel useless as I can’t do anything in that time window they provide, while you just get melted by casters and dots.
I would be happy to share more info if you want to check my actual BGs or anything, please for the love of GOD do not implement these changes. There cannot be a single ret pally who is having any luck with pvp this weekend.
Hope this was helpful, I have 38k honor left to hit rank 7 and absolutely dreading it. I was actually very excited coming into this weekend as pvp has been great fun up until this point. Now I am not sure it is even worth it this weekend with pvp feeling this way.
I know a flat stamina buff is harder to implement, especially for world pvp, thought it would work for battlegrounds and yes going oom more often is definitely a thing. Im not sure the damage reduction is the correct answer but I do see it as a “resilience” in a way… BUT 50% is insane!! Let’s get that down to 25-30% and see how it feels.
However can we please start to talk about DR now?!?! I mean fears are down right crazy with only a 5 min trinket to stop it. Wanna kill a pally just cc him until he uses his only 2 cooldowns both 5 mins. And we get 1 cc (maybe 2 if repentence is grabbed) both on a 1 min cooldown. I know DRs got implemented at some point in vanilla and I know technically we haven’t dropped the BWL and AQ content patches but with as long as each phase is taking this making PvP unplayable.
