Test Complete: Let there be wiki posts, apparently

Yes. If given access I would probably edit guild lists to look different. Like so:

I imagine editing someoneā€™s posts with the intent to actually cause trouble would be a swift way to get a forum ban. Peopleā€™ll just have to keep an eye on it - we can also change whether or not it can be edited on a whim if it gets abused.

One thing I would suggest is that you canā€™t delete anything added by someone else if youā€™re editing someoneā€™s post - and if you add something on, your name is automatically pegged in at the end of the post.

Just to be clear, itā€™s completely voluntary on the part of the person making the original post/comment; nobody has the ability to change the content any post without the OPā€™s consent.

The forum software was originally designed for much smaller communities where collaborative wiki-like posts could likely be put up without much fear of trolling or misuse. (I give it three months tops before Blizzā€™s fun-seeking missiles take out the wiki option altogether).

Ah, gotcha, I missed that bit and was horrified accordingly. Thanks for the clarification!

Yeah. Itā€™s something that you can turn on and off.

I had it on with the original post and asked others to test it before saying, ā€œHey this is a thing.ā€ I turned it off before bed because I did not want to leave it unattended.

I can see it being used for brainstorming, world weaving, collaborative writing, and games. But yeah I can see the fun seeking missiles shut it down.

You better watch yourself @Rykadiel

Iā€™m having my home recipe of bibimbap = hot rice with bacon, carrots, cucumber, mushrooms, onions, and topped with an over-easy egg.

Iā€™m still uncertain how I feel about the popularity settings in this new forum, but maybe itā€™s because I donā€™t post enough to get the loving.
