When is assassination rogue getting single target damage buff in M+?
Currently it is like 500k DPS behind the average, and like 1mil DPS behind strong ST class like arcane mages.

When are all Rogue specs being buffed? Who knows?
As the world turns.
Marlena…Stefano…the drama unfolds.
Tune in next time.
From what i read, the Bleed build has decent ST dmg.
Havent played Sin in a while though.
The bleed build does what…miniature 1.6m dps, even ret pallies are doing 2m after buffs, and mages doing like 2.5m
After they finally fix energy regen issues on ST and buff cp generators.
I’m playing only Bleed build for M+ because Hybrid build is now complete trash.
I’m doing about 0.5M more dps on ST boss fights with bleed build, than with Hybrid build which should be hypotheticaly better due to Kingsbane and AMP poison…
But because you can’t spam more envenoms due to energy starvation issue, you’ll always fall behind other classes in dps once you’re out of Thistle stacks.
With bleed build you have atleast few moments of Blindside procs, where you can chase the dps back up and also during execute phase, but its still not perfect.
I’m saying that everytime and will say that again - The core of all problems with assassination begins with their bad energy regen and that needs to be fixed either by returning of Relentless Strikes or complete redesign of the spec.
its sad to see that our theorycrafter doesn’t share the same feelings, because he personally want to be less spammy and more afk sleeping…
You can be the best PvE rogue in the world and still fall behind other dps classes, because you will always be hindered by class design.
It’s especially weird when you consider sin rogue has a 2 minute single target focused cooldown, yet a ret paladin will have close to the same burst with their 30s one and then smoke you the longer the fight goes on.
edit: I even forgot to mention Deathstalker’s Mark - a ST focused hero talent. Just makes it even more hilarious.
Also Assassination doesn’t have the utility/defensives of a Ret. No Rogue spec does honeslty which is why they need to unnerf a lot of the Rogue tools and also return Relentless Strikes to Assassination and Outlaw.
Actually his most recent Wowhead article did flag it as an issue. Hes still over 2 years too late.
You mean Whysper? i actually got a response of him a while back when talking about ST being a huge issue with Sin and he largely brushed it of then.
Guess he finally realized that having such a slow gameplay for no real reason or reward isnt fun.
Now that i think about it, Sub actually does this better.
Outside of Shadow Dance, Sub is REALLY slow, but once you get into SD, and even more during the Shadow Blades windows, you go at full speed.
Sin is just stuck on slow mode the entire time during ST.
Yes, you press one button every 4-5 seconds…
Which is why i play and praise this version of Sub. The Dance timings can still use some tweakings and the talent tree could use whole new options, but the addition of Trickster really helped bring that sudden death theme together. The downtime doesnt feel bad because its time im now able to save explicitely for dealing with mechanics and letting others deal damage.
Few tips for the bleed build on ST:
Yep that is all I got. GL.
Accidentally ran 14% haste, and about 5% more vers and I’m doing a lot more st. Noticed a tiiiiiny loss in aoe because of the 10%mastery I dropped for it. But makes up for the 3-4 minute bosses where I was doing a lot less before. That’s the kingsbane and dtb build too, not bleeds.
Maybe worth a try if you have a ring with haste on it… or the neck from brewery, and a haste flask?
Guess what? Youre doing less damage overall in that M+ run and thats why its not recommended.
This is not a new concept where the sims say to drop haste for mastery but in reality dropping a few mastery for haste improves practical performance. Assassination Rogues have done this in past expansions many times since Assassination mastery was introduced in Cata.
Similar thing happens to Outlaw with haste being ideal in sims but this is why you just need enough haste for Outlaw to reach the AR softcap for sub 1.0 GCD.
Theoretical and ideal are not always aligned as the inflexion point for secondary stats varies so much for each person based on different gearing and other factors (eg racials).
Which is why stat weights are not gospel as they used to be and also why people say just sim it first because one persons gear is going to be drastically different from another.
Nah mate. was doing more overall because the time spent doing much more damage on a longer boss, compared to a tiny bit less on a big aoe pull that gets blasted down meant more overall dps.
You’re awesome, tho. love you.
I promise it didn’t. You cant even find out how to post on your Rogue yet we are expected to take your false data seriously. AoE can have billions of damage being put out in 30 seconds. A 3min ST boss will not have that much HP. You save more time by blasting the trash packs harder (and eventually dragging trash into those long bosses).
Classy post and you are a valued member of the Rogue community.
Thank you for being you!
I promise it did. 20ish seconds of 20m dps with lust (say 1st pull brew) and about 1.3-5m on bosses that can go for 5 mins. Vs 17-18 on the same pull and 1.8-2 on bosses.
The groups I usually run with have a lot of burst aoe, as do a lot of the specs being run these days so trying to capitalise all your damage coming from huge pulls will vary depending on your group. More often I’m finding the safer bet is for me to focus less on aoe, cos that’s looking after itself, and be more useful on a boss which can drag on with a lot of the specs being run.
In the end it wasn’t a big difference. But FELT a lot better on bosses or st.
Nah I’ve had it linked a few times but switching from phone to pc keeps changing the characters and tbh idgaf. Plus I feel like there could be some really yucky and degenerate types of people who would look someone’s characters up just to be rude to make themselves feel better. You know, the type, nothing better to do but talk down to others to make themselves seem justified in their crappy attitudes.
Not cool folk like you and me tho mate <3 . Just scumbags.
