Terrible performance in dragon isles

i7-11700k
RTX 3070 Zotac
32gb ram 3000mhz
z590-plus-wifi
500gb M.2
750W PSU gold

1440p 240hz Monitor

Average 70-80 sometimes dipping into the 50’s only in dragon isles… All settings max and found out if you increase sharpening slider it tanks frames badly. Have it set to default 0.3 currently.

Why is performance getting worse and worse with each expansion? Why not just update the engine again? I really don’t want to buy new parts just to play WoW when I can go get 200+ in GW2, ESO, FFXIV or EQ2…

I have an RTX 3070 and i7-12700k on a 144hz monitor, also with 32gb RAM. Also running everything on max. I’m experiencing similar frustrations.

It’s not just the reported stuttering in other threads–my fps is considerably lower now. Averages around 80-100 in open Dragon Isles areas (sometimes reaches the 120s at best), but gets even lower to around the 60-70s in questing outposts. Dragonriding also has this effect.

Don’t know if I’m just expecting too much of my system at this point, or if there’s something else going on in the client that is affecting fps to this degree. It wasn’t nearly as bad in Shadowlands.

Same here. Also micro stutters constantly.

Same results here even tho I play at 1080p. I7 1170k, RTX 2060. I don’t have eveything maxed out but I’m playing with vsync (else it gets loads of screen tearing) and sometimes when loading a new zone it lowers to 45 FPS before going back to normal. Dragonriding into a new zone is also a big offender on this.

Same here, game is super smooth on my rig but i get micro stutters every few seconds

same here, game is running pretty bad, not using the the gpu even, dont know whats going on.

This has been my experience too. Steady high FPS with occasional missed frames or stutters

Check and make sure the nVidia overlay isn’t causing it. I noticed a few days ago that something funny was going on when the ShadowPlay overlay was taking more RAM than WoW. Turning it off fixed the memory and CPU usage issues.

I definitely dont get anywhere near the performance I would expect out of an RTX 4080, Ryzen 7600x, and 32gb of DDR5 @5200mhz memory.

Did you try wiggling the wires on your internet router?

amd 5600 rtx3060ti 32gb ram 360hz 1080p monitor tweaking my settings to get 60fps in dragon city. I was flipping out almost refunding my new hardware .then turn on old 4 core i7 with a 1060 and 12gb ram i get 40-60 fps in new city. weather set on ultra or low 1 setting fps is similar.feeel like its a kick to buy thousands more pc gear but i log in to old zones and have 300+fps 140ish when out in dragon isles, But the city is like SW in classic when i had a 2gb Gpu .sounds like a 4090 still drops to 60fps in the cess pit city, 600fps in overwatch and 45-60 in wow, cmon reward us for our efforts on PC builds here blizzard
