I just unlocked my Dark Ranger skin and I took this opportunity (since I have no belfs) to do a run with no heirlooms. I figured this would be a great reason to get professions and so I crafted about 3 BoEs using Relic of the Past to craft a ilvl 29 item and then the very next level got a ilvl 60 wrist and chest from a simple quest. After seeing this I was pretty dismayed to find out I would only be wearing these BoEs that took me like an hour to grind till I found the next replacement.
All this to say that I feel the scaling with these items are a bit off. And looking at wowhead and checking their Ilvl scales, there seems to be a jump from level 15 to 16 to more than double the ilvls.
Making a new character, I noticed a lot more new people crawling around than usual, I fear a lot of them will not be able to find any reason to craft and level if the power level of gear offered from crafting is this poor…
Note: the item I linked was just an example, perhaps it is different depending on the zone/timeline but I got my first green from a quest at level 16 in Ghostlands.
