To be devilās advocate, selling the impulsive gamers pixels is what has kept game prices mostly static. It certainly hasnāt kept up with the inflation.
For the people who donāt need or care about horse armor, corporations preying on the people who do need/care about pixels is actually a positive thing.
Itās like tobacco taxes instead of bans, and allowing gambling. Predatory toward one group, but creates financial gains for someone else.

0 dollars if you just paid with gold. Most of my problems with the shop stuff went away when they de facto created a way to obtain those items with in-game play via token markets.

There are a lot of reasons why this isnāt sensical. So many its hard to pick just one pointā¦ the fact server prices are a fraction now over what they were. Cheaper bandwidth, small customers support, the fact all entertainment is cheaper now then ever and more.
Im just going to state that your point is nonsensical and move on.

Theyāve had bundles with tenders included before. They will continue doing it as long as they make money off it. That is what businesses do.
Meh, i really dont like that mount so im going to pass. I would have been interested if they were just sold directly or even attached to any mount.

Thank goodness they took a long requested mount option and slapped freaking handlebars on it to make it look like a motorcycle without wheels instead of what it should be. Super duper cool.

Dev salaries have increased 30-60% over the past 20 years.
That alone would represent an immense increase in cost.
Maybe blizzard is a special unicorn whose costs have not increased in 20 years, but the cost to make games for everyone else seems to have gone up.
Due to court filings, we can see that call of duty made in 2015 was about 450 million to make, while the 2020 one was 640.
Meanwhile, blizzard has charged pretty much the same baseline in a timespan that cumulative inflation has exceeded 60%>

Wonāt lie, Iād totally buy from the Shop if the mounts there were actually good to look at. Thereās maybe 1-2. I think an actual, big dragon would be cool. Anything but a broom reskin, really.
