It might not if there’s #nochanges.
Blizzard doesn’t want either retail or classic to fail because they cater to two different genres of players and both games need one another to survive.
You left out the part explaining how not seeing server populations makes the game fail.
How can a brand want it’s product to fail? No sense.
Those addon-gathered numbers might have made faction balance worse as players transferred away after seeing them (or decided to create a new toon somewhere else).
There was a 4chan leak not too long ago that said there was a bit of an animosity the retail WoW team expressed towards the Classic WoW team. A kind of a “They can’t replace us!” type of animosity. The leak later stated that if Classic was more successful than retail, the Classic team would take the reins of the development lead towards WoW 9.0
Now, obviously we will never be able to confirm or prove this leak, but to me it just makes total sense.
4chan, sounds legit.
No amount of even SUPER GENIUSES who are working on Classic will be able to bring Retail back around to a place that appeals to the majority of Classic players, they are two incredibly different games at this point.
They’d literally need to start from scratch with a WoW2 for me to give a modern WoW a chance.
You should look up Tab Clear.
Why use hashtags outside of Twitter?
What the F does the title of your thread have to do with what you are asking? Click bait?? Lame.
Yes, Blizzard is a stupid company run by dumb people who like to spend money so that their company can actually lose money in the long run just to prove some moronic poster correct.
Why do you need to see server populations ?
So they can figure out which servers is supposedly imbalanced, roll on the over populated side and then come to the forums claiming to be a pvp god of course.
Oh I see. Yes I guess that would be of value to them but it also explains why blizzard might not want them to see that information.
I’m pretty sure what Blizzard wants is for all the people who re-subbed to go
“welp, that was good but I’m curious what retail has to offe-OOOH! Classic was good but this is even better! And it actually has new content but most importantly STORE MOUNTS! I need to buy ALL OF THOSE! Came for Classic, stayed for Retail! Retail is love! Retail is life! More store mounts please! Oh, and can we get more pets on the store too?”
No why would they want it to fail? You know how many people came back just to play classic? That’s a lot of money to be made.
Wow, that is more sneaky and duplicitous than even I thought a corporation could be. Who’s the crystal pepsi in this comparison though? Nost and private servers?
Nah, not saying anyone in this situation is Crystal or Tab Clear. Just saying that self sabotage can be a legitimate business strategy (see poison pill and suicide pill for other ways to deny another company).
Moral of Tab Clear: Never doubt capitalism!
That said, I doubt Blizz is self sabotaging. I think WoW classic is a pilot experiment for an potential eventual WoW 2.
