Temporal Anomaly removed in 11.2!

Temporal Anomaly finally getting the axe is a good new/bad news type of a situation. On the one hand it was a terrible talent so I am glad to see it gone but on the other removing it and leaving us with only a flat 6% int increase talent node instead is going to amount to a pretty sizable nerf (worse for some specs than others). It also makes for a very poor capstone talent.

Damage can be tuned. Getting rid of this awful talent is reason for celebration.

I like how a lot of the changes are sounding so far!!

I actually hate this change.

I quite liked anomaly

6% intellect? Sign me up please! Like come on, seriously?

Bad change, I don’t like this at all. I really enjoyed the extra procs and yes I also liked reacting to the combustion windows.

I hate this change

And let’s not pretend that they are gonna increase the procs somewhere else, this is a done deal, enjoy 6% intellect.

This is not gonna make the class unplayable, not even close, but it’s a pretty big deal, like this is not a whatever change, this has a big effect

How…how do you add 40% to the meteor center…when all we asked for was target casting!???

This kind of sux for fire since all 3 procs directly effected cd reduction of combustion which is a very important function of the minute mage build they’ve been forcing on us since the end of BFA. Trading this for a straight 6% int buff seems like a damage loss to me. It certainly makes the gameplay outside of comb more annoying since we’ll be in it longer.

Yeah, this is what I meant when I said some specs will be affected more than others. For once I am glad I play Arcane, lol.

Oh boy where to start?

  • Why is arcane debilitation still 2 points instead of 1?
  • Buffing mastery to compensate for the loss of temporal anomaly then nerfing prodigious savant amounts to a wash, thus we still won’t take the talent.
  • Far right side of the tree is still mind-blowingly under tuned.
  • Surging urge, PoM still vastly inferior and will never be taken.
  • Continuing to force a choice between arcane tempo and big brained is a “feel bad.”
  • Swapping arcane rebound and static cloud effectively meaningless.

When I see changes like this, often I wonder what these devs left on the scrapheap?

It’s even more noticeable for arcane because we lose the mana regen from random procs. This will make mastery have more value and could require a stat realignment.

Well at least it’s something because it makes an Arcane Barrage talent more easily reachable. Arcane Explosion is basically never used now so any talent that interacts with it is virtually useless.

But yeah, everything about Arcane needs a major overhaul, not just the talent tree.

It depends, because TA is extremely volatile, so the times where you get a Combustion proc when you actually need it are anything but reliable. I’d rather get rid of this extremely high variance and get more solid, consistent gameplay. I’m extremely happy to get rid of TA.

it was way more fun than a flat int buff
really sad to see it gone

I wouldn’t call getting an Arcane Surge proc mid Arcane Surge cast or Time Warp after a pack died 1s ago very fun. It happens all the time.

I agree with this its just the ‘fix’ is so lazy and uninspired you may as well leave time anomaly in the game, this kinda stuff just builds apathy.

Those words hold true for just about everything they’ve done since Legion, lol. I think they know it too and that’s why they’re trying to pull out all the stops with the next expansion.

I get so annoyed at all of these random procs that they have in the game. most of the trinkets feel so unsatisfying because most of the time they won’t proc while bursting … while blizzard designs the game around cooldowns. I’m so glad to see it go.

The combustion was probably the least beneficial of the 3 but was at least worth a few crits which helps kindling along with the other 2 random procs. Im more concerned with whats going to replace these procs ability to reduce the cd of combustion since a straight int buff doesn’t do that.

No, Combustion was the most impactful of the three because it applied to Unleashed Inferno and its CDR. You could shave off a huge amount of Combustion’s cooldown when it procced if you had Fire Blast charges remaining, but even with no charges it’d still be impactful. It was the main reason for Fire’s huge swings of DPS.

Okay sure it had a higher ceiling if it proc’d at the right times. BUt regardless, my issue is whats going to replace the CDR aspect of all 3 procs. I just started playing again so can’t say I am playing completely optimal. I don’t yet have the mecha bracers but have the 4 set. After that 2nd comb when shifting power is on cd Im at around 30-40 seconds of sitting on my hands crit fishing waiting for comb. I always wondered why some variation of memory of lucid dream has never been reimplemented. The synergy is there, certainly with fire.

I’d rather be tuned without needing an nth layer of CDR. We don’t really need CDR compensation for TA getting removed, just proper damage tuning, and if that means Combustion will do more damage, then great.

I feel like the cdr portion is pretty important. At least my grasp of the current iteration is to get back into comb as quickly as possible since we still hit like wet noodles outside of it. I would much rather the bigger 2min comb but then we’d have the issue of sitting on our hands again for 2mins since for some reason they never let us do damage outside of combustion lol.
