The quest is minimal experience relative to completing dungeons, you can just leave it uncompleted, or partially completed. Eventually you may get in a group where someone just does it anyway.
Also, you could try asking if they can do the other boss for you…
Most of the groups I’ve been in ignore everyone who asks. In Remix, most of the time, we had to run the second boss with just two of us. Which wasn’t an issue in Remix, but there are people leveling who do get some XP and also get transmog from the quest turn in.
Majority skip because the juice isn’t worth the squeeze, and that’s their prerogative, but still, asking is better than just waiting for someone to do it on their own.
Even if you want to do the story time boss, it’s still faster to go through the door behind the first boss. If you really want to force people to do hit the second, then you just lock the sha off until all the bosses are dead. Or play as/with a tank. Bonus points if you are the tank/healer combo and just duo it after the dps leave.
You know you can do (and turn in) all the dungeon quests outside timewalking right? Just manually go to the instance and one-shot everything inside. It’s not like they give any better rewards if you do them during TW.
The XP literally isn’t worth the time it takes to do the boss, the completion bonus for the dungeon is what you’re after. And the gear is replaced within an hour. There’s just no point.
I don’t understand why people go “man i wish this dungeon could take LONGER for LESS exp per session”. By no means am I a speed leveler, but getting that dungeon done in 5 mins instead of 10 for the completion exp it gives is a no brainer. The time it takes to do that ONE singular boss, you could have ran Jade Temple again.
Really just open up WOD and do the bonus objectives if you want to timesink yourself into exp gains.
Agreed, though my preference would be to remove the other side boss from the quest over changing the doors back to the way they were in MoP (Locked until both side bosses were killed).
This is also an issue for getting vault credit - this dungeon won’t count unless the other side boss is cleared, which is dumb based on how the dungeon is currently set up by Blizzard.
