Temple of Kotmogu is absolutely dreadful in Dragonflight

I have not been in a single balanced game. Either your team is crushing or your being crushed, never middle ground.

REMOVE TEMPLE OF KOTMOGU
oh and replace it with DEEPWIND DUNK

thank you

Absolutely not

Delete both and seething shore while we’re at it

I wonder what the common theme is with bgs that feel awful and those that don’t.

Is it size? Kptmogu is technically large but nobody plays outer tier

kotmogu and fortnite bg are both deathball tdm bgs, if you lose you just get dumpstered into the ground

AB/Gilneas and its reskins have 3 or 5 points of focus, and the dynamic of defense, offense, ninjaing, and sneaky tactics, during losses you always feel like maybe you can do something different to maybe win unless its a total landslide victory

WSG/TP have the dynamic of various methods of flag carrying and counters, defense, offense, big team fights, sneaky assassinations, quick caps and the like, again you feel like you can always do something differently or adapt to maybe make a comeback

kotmogu is literally one single point on the whole map to control, you deathball into mid and you either win the 10v10 and continue to win it for the rest of the game, or you lose the 10v10 and continue to lose it for the rest of the game.

an even more tilting thing about kotmogu in random bgs is that its extremely easy to get stomped from poor play as people respawn in random intervals and trickle into the mid and get obliterated. in a desperation to “just kill orb” they will try to kill orb carriers 1v15 just because the guy has 80% increased damage taken as they get hit by a tidal wave of cc and sent to the gy. they will pick up orbs solo because “just get orb” and get picked off in 2 seconds and sent to the gy, in every other bg pretty much since there is multiple focus points 1-3 players can go places and not expect to be blasted, but in kotmogu they just get devoured by the deathball.

seething shore is nearly the same experience, for most of the game there is only one node that the deathball goes to and the second node is babysat by a fatherless guardian druid player pressing swipe until the deathball conquers the other at the first node and travels to the second, when you lose in this bg there is again not much more you can do and the whole thing is miserable as people drop all over the map scattered and get eaten up by the deathball just like kotmogu

kotmogu used to be fun, but DF damage is so fast, its now whacky

if anything its strange that Kotmogu is a Random BG, while Deepwind dunk is a Brawl

Kotmogu is literally the most brawliest type map

Bring back strand of the ancients. There, I said it.

I’ve been saying this for a while but if we added a determination buff to people who die repeatedly in short order it would force more resets and flips and slow down premade zug zug dramatically.

By this I mean if you die too fast more than say 2-3x in a row, on your next spawn you get a buff for 60 seconds with +10% damage and health that stacks. So if you get killed again quickly it’s 20%, then 30% etc until the collective stacking forces the other team to wipe and reset.

It would eradicate GY camping and at least level off a lot of the lopsided wins (and force some split ressing on the other team to hopefully make things ultimately closer). And there would be something inherently fun of being camped 4-5x and then busting through with a zerker style damage rush.

Just my .02

I apologize for their creation. If only I had known that going to the store for cigarettes 20 years ago would have resulted in pvp tanks…

Yep, you can have close matches in ToK in rated BGs, but for randoms… not likely.

I have not been in a single balanced game. Either your team is crushing or your being crushed, never middle ground.

It’s not unique to ToK. Part of the reason is the matchmaking algorithm which seems to just look at role and nothing else. If that. I just did an Ashran where we were 2 healers on Horde and Ally had 5-6 and then the other healer left and it was just me for the rest of the match.

Playing a lot of wotlk and its just as fun as i remember including strand. At least bgs are fun.

Even wg is enjoyable. But thats largely because the thing only happens evey 3 hours and the raids are massive. Like 80v80 or something.

Class design has a huge impact on if bgs are fun or not. But its ofc not the only factor.

Just hope we continue to see the trend of less cooldowns more sustain.

Haha…I’m giving you a like just for that.

Nothing really changed there with DF. This map has always been that way, easily controlled if one team is much stronger than the other.

This part I agree with. More fun than the normal map.

You don’t lose temple when you lose mid, I’ve come back and won in that scenario many times, it’s that people give up when we lose the first team fight and then refuse to carry orbs.

EDIT: The BG forums are much more rational than when I left. A lot of the same faces just something changed. I like it, keep up the good work.
