Streamers agree with me? That’s nice, but I doubt they ever elaborate their points. I’ve thought this over a lot since the prune in WoD. Simply put, the pruning that occurred before WoD mainly removed fluff(only example otherwise I can think of is hunter’s pet intervene), but the pruning in WoD and Legion took away useful abilities which reduced the skill ceiling and really limited what you were capable of compared to pre-prune.
Some niche examples like frost DK’s two DOTs giving 12.5% increased damage on obliterate. Mage’s frost bomb, arcane tempest, and living bomb (or any other DoT) benefiting from shatter for the entire duration if applied to a frozen target. Cancelling bubble to deal enough damage to secure a kill. Shadow dance disarm trap. Spell reflect and grounding totem only affecting one spell. All gone come legion.
I’m interested in why you prefer a lower-skill game.
