Please Blizzard, just make TS as good as CSAA for once. I want to be able to use it and not take a damage loss. I hate watching my character auto attack and waiting to have fun.
Ts cannot be buffed in a way that makes it both conoetitive and healthy for the spec (they would just buff its damage, maybe its hp gen should go up to two).
The only way ts works is for crusading to be deleted or giga nerfed which is not happening.
They should just bring back the DoT it used to bring after the 2nd strike. Easy fix, and it would scale more with haste.
I like this, make both hits generate two HP.
They can’t do that.
They JUST removed 2hp Judgement to curb HP generation to put damage back into the spenders.
Putting 2 HP on each TS hit would blow all that out the window and would create a weird priority structure.
It needs to be a filler and that’s fine.
The problem is potentially with CSAA not having a high enough penalty on the attack speed and too much damage.
I would prefer Templer Strikes to be the play as well, but I don’t see it happening.
As has been said- if they buff the damage or the Holy Power generation of TS then that screws up the rotation. BoJ and Judgement need to take priority with TS being the filler, and thus the amount of damage it can do and the amount of resources it can generate are capped.
The only way to make TS the play is to nerf Crusading Strikes, but instead they keep buffing it. Despite their original mission statement for Ret, the devs (or someone above them) absolutely wants to keep CSAA on the table. Unfortunately, because of how CSAA works under the hood if it is on the table it is the play.
There is an outside chance that TS is competitive at first while we’re all in leveling gear and have no haste, but that will last a couple weeks at best.
I’m happy with my keybind quantity now thanks. TS is fine.
True. But they also removed csaa and then brought it back. Not the most consistent company…
Agreed. And it does damn good damage for a spell with an extremely short cd (3 seconds or so).
Again, agreed. That being said, a LOT of players have been complaining on the downtime window.
It does STUPID good damage for a passive. Almost insane.
TS is fine as it is (obviously, you should NOT use Judgment with 2 charges..*)
The problem has been the same for many years. CSAA should be ELIMINATED.
Or, as they did recently, go back to -50% speed. A much lower baseline damage would also be appreciated! Since it benefits from Blades of Light and gets a +20%…
Back to -50% speed, CSAA is the only solution.
PS. * A further buff to the boundless Judgment talent would also be nice, as it could be a great help for TS builds.
I’m doing some whatever keys while waiting for Midnight, and I’ve had CSAA do way more Dmg than I am honestly comfortable with. Like, dmg is nice, but this probably isn’t healthy.
This passive ability -with gameplay boiling down to “Stay in melee range” - can sometimes be my 3rd-5th most damaging source.
That said, Ret (and all melee) are looking pretty rough - does Blizz have the resources and energy to both nerf CSAA properly, and nudge all Melee up at the same time?
I’m thinking we are getting CSAA again, for at least Season 1
CSAA’s selling point should be that it removes an ability from your bar.
TS being active should automatically make it more overall throughput or there’s zero reason to EVER take it. Ever. It’d be a noobtrap button.
The advantage of TS over csaa is two-fold…
-
Makes your rotation smoother. There’s very little downtime because you can actively press it at any time. HoPo on demand.
-
It frees up your regular auto-attack, potentially giving you access to more Light Within procs from Art of War.
Me personally, I’m having a blast using TS.
ts is stronger than cssa when you get apex talent for raiding and solo content
the difference is minimal. just play ts
yall were told this already.
They were told this.
I’ve been saying this since jumpstreet. ![]()
That’s great right now while damage doesn’t matter, but once the season starts you are too competitive not to use the one that is better. Which do you think that will be?
Have you tried it with the Skyfury buff from a shaman? Yup- 20% more damage and HP generation.
Believe it or not, Arahgon (yeah, I said it, Arahgon) said this a while ago waaayy back near the beginning of TWW, and it actually holds true----
If, IF there is a difference between csaa and TS as we progress, that difference is gonna be so minimal that it won’t really matter unless you’re pushing Title, and most of us aren’t. Hell, I was just talking to Melee on this very subject and this is his thinking as well.
In my personal experience, I kind of noticed this last season. You really don’t start noticing the differences in dps until you start doing around maybe (roughly) 14’s and 15’s. Other than that, I’m sure getting to 3K IO will be no problem for us who wanna use TS.
And I’ve been having an absolute blast, enjoying the new and improved TS with it’s 3 second CD; the rotation feels damn good to me. And having fun is the very reason why we all play this game, yes? ![]()
Absolutely. That said, there aren’t a lot of people that are going to take a measurable damage loss to liven up the rotation.
Dude, with all due respect, most people aren’t going to push for Title. That’s where it really matters. And I highly doubt Blizz will further buff csaa at this point. If csaa slightly pushes ahead of TS with minimal dps loss, and people actually think it’s gonna matter on 9’s and 10’s, then that’s on them.
You should understand this reasoning, being at one of the higher levels than most (34K level).
I should get a T-shirt that says “Arahgon was right.”
keep in mind i said ts for raids
csaa is strong for keys but again if your not really doing title level stuff then you shouldnt really care about the small difference between the two
this is like df all over again where the difference is minimal enough to run ts or csaa or cs
