Templar PvP question

Would it be better to run vanilla wings over crusade for templar?

The reason why is because, we have to use HoL right after wake.

It wouldn’t be wise to waste HP to build crusade stacks to them have to build 5 again to use HoL.

With wings we don’t worry about that

I had the same question and was betting that Avenging Wrath Might was the right call.

But Lvladen made a video, and he explains why Crusade is still better. Even when you are immediately pressing Wake into Hammer of Light.

When you use an ability that costs Holy Power, it includes the amount you are spending on that finisher as if it already had those Crusade stacks.

So, when you pop Crusade, you already get/have 1 stack.

Pressing Hammer of Light causes it to deal damage as if you had 6 stacks of Crusade. Because HoL has the 5 Holy Power cost.

The damage bonus of an always minimum, 6 stack Crusade HoL does more damage than Avenging Wrath Might.

I didn’t know Crusade functioned like that until watching his video!

Wait really?? Has it always functioned like that???

Which video does he say that in

Yeah. Even though I don’t PvP (man, I should get back into it, used to have a lot of fun) LvLaden always seem to put a lot of thought in his videos. I honestly believe we paladins can always get better listening to his advice.

Well done, Luthorion.

P.S. Just curious, what is your name based on?

Completely agree he makes good content and always does solid work bringing bugs to light.

PvP is also a blast on Ret. Just wait for Steed of Liberty next reset!

In short, nothing very specific.

I have played Wow ever since the February after the original launch. Always played Horde with my uncle/dad up until mid-BFA and then I swapped alliance. Seeing Varian die in the Broken Shore cinematic was enough for me to realize the error of my ways! I was always a Blood Elf Paladin main on my horde account originally though.

When I swapped over to Alliance, I had this idea to have all of my characters have their names end in -ion.

Sort of had this idea from Bajheera, who has his character names start with Baj. Because my runner up character is always a warrior.

I have tons of Alliance characters with names like Luthorion, Usurpion (Warlock), Apothion (Priest), Chidorion (Monk) etc.

The idea was atleast to start each name with something that is thematically appropriate to the class.

I guess at the time I made this Paladin, that I at least would see “Lutheran” all the time around Churches. Ended up just changing the ending to match all my characters. So I landed on Luthorion!

Ah-hahahaha!!

This line alone was worth the entire post.

I won’t lie: I HATED to see Blizz get rid of Varian. He was an absolute bad-@$$. But man-o-man, Varian went out like a “G”! One of the best scenes ever.

No, “normal wings” aka avenging wrath might is nerfed in pvp by 50%

With radisnt glory crusade, so long as you have divine toll you can actually delay hammer of light until full stacks. Youd wake of ashes > spender >builder> spender> divine toll> hammer of light.

ONLY when you have divine toll. Other than that trying to max crusade before radiant glory ends is very risky because any cc will just stop you and you will lose Hammer of light window.

Sadly we are balanced around radiant glory

If i remember correctly, someone mentioned it is because HoL has a delay, that delay (an internal cast timer) allows it’s damage calculations occur after crusade stacks is applied. This is why HoL gcd does not scale with haste.

This too.
