Templar Paladin Could Use a Buff (PvP)

Even in 2’s Templar clearly is lagging behind Herald of the Sun. Hard to say exactly what should/could be done.

My best idea right now is to either reduce the number of stacks required to grant us the free proc of Hammer of Light or increase how fast it currently stacks.

The Unrelenting Charger talent feels solid right now and I’m sure this talent being paired up with Steed of Liberty will lock it in.

The Sacrosanct Crusade shield talent is also decent but perhaps could use a slight buff.

Would really just like the option to play both of my Hero Specs competitively with Templar being much closer in overall performance to Herald.

For pvp alone id suggest

Sacrosanct crusade doubled in all numbers 20% shield 10% heal 2% per target at least

Empyrean hammers NEED TO DEOP ON YOUR MAIN TARGET. It seems no blizzard dev did pvp at all as templar. It is unnaceptable that empyrean hammers drop on pets, totems, summons and eveeything but your target. Such a stupid design.

Shake the heavens NEEDS to work at max range. Another mechanic hindering templar.

Lights deliverance needs its stacks reduced. 60 in pvp is too much specially when shake the heavens just drops because you get cced constantly.

Empyrean hammers giving a shield or heal for 100% of their damage

WoG needs to heal for more. It costs mana and hp come on…

Regarding the spec as a whole
Divine protection needs to be 20% again.

The real issue with Templar is there is nothing to do outside of the 30 second burst windows. Just have bad damage is what you do. The singular damage of hammer of light isnt enough to merit taking templar.

Especially when other classes are hitting twice as hard with their burst AND they are ranged.

Come to think of it I have heard a few others mention that the Hammers fall on random secondary targets including pets and totems. If that is happening it absolutely should be looked at for PvP.

Have also heard that the Hammers don’t work if you are not in melee range. Haven’t tested or really been able to notice this without Addons.

Judgment also not working on Totems is criminal. You can only dump a blade of justice, hammer of wrath or final verdict to kill them and it feels bad.

  • Retribution
    • Templar: Shake the Heavens lasts for 10 seconds (was 8 seconds).
    • Templar: Sanctification duration increased to 12 seconds (was 10 seconds).
    • Templar: Final Reckoning now increases the damage of Hammer of Light by 30% (was 15%).
    • Templar: Hammer of Light main target damage increased by 25%.
    • Templar: Hammer of Light secondary target damage increased by 75%.
    • Templar: Light’s Deliverance now triggers at 50 stacks (was 60).
    • Templar: Undisputed Ruling grants 15% Haste for 8 seconds (was 12% Haste for 6 seconds).
    • Templar: Wrathful Descent now deals 125% of the Empyrean Hammer damage to nearby enemies (was 100%).
    • Templar: Empyrean Hammer now benefits from Penitence and Burn to Ash.

Those buffs are… a lot more than i was expecting.
Herald won’t stand a chance against this, so Templar is going to surpass it by at least 5% more dps.

Where is “empyrean hammer will now hit your primary target”???

Why is this still a thing? Do any of them play templar in pvp?

How many empyrean hammers do I have to watch drop on psyfiends , pets, spirit wolves, … come on

If we can get one more update to address this problem, I think Templar will be in a fantastic position for PvP.

Pvp wise it looks like it’s still kinda crap
