so ive been pretty vocal at how i ffeel templar is the much lesser spec than herald, even after these ‘buffs’
And i keep trying to give it a go, then i noticed this.
I jsut got done a target raid dummy, and it said i cast 12 hammer of light for 9.43million.
the clincher is that of the 12 ONLY 6 HIT! for an average of 1.57 million, where my normal hit ave 1.2million and crits were ave 3.2 million.
that 6 hammers of light that went to lala land
im mean maybe dumb of me, but i didnt know hammer of light can MISS your target?
is this a bug?
herald will passively apply its dot no matter what, which is perhaps why my dps using herald in consistantly 200k to 300k higher
It’s obvious what the issue is, you are not hit capped!
But more importantly, how do you have Hammer of Light in TBC??
Post a screenshot of your Details showing HoL missed, because it never happens to me and i see everything live as i have an addon for combat text.

Just make a screenshot of your Details logs (or whatever dmg meter you use) while having Hammer of Light clicked and then upload it and post the link here.

a) You upload it to a free online image holder.
b) Then you copy the link and then you paste the link in the Post box here on the forums.
c) Select the whole link and then press the </> symbol to preformat it.

if you can see it, it clearly shows 14 casts and 7 hits
maybe take a look at a details of yours and see how many hol casts and how many hits
Do you see the B for Bold option above the Post box where you write stuff? Well look at the </> symbol 4 icons to its right.

Seems like they add up.
Edit: Oh, you have selected Final Verdict… select Hammer of Light to see the details for it.
And post another screenshot.
Your HoL says 7 hits with 57.1% Crits… so you probably have 8 crits.

Your HoL says 7 hits with 57.1% Crits… so you probably have 4 crits with 3 normal hits. Since the total casts are 7.
Where do you see 14 casts?
Select Hammer of Light so you see in the right panel the details for it and make another screenshot with that.
In 2 minutes you can cast Hammer of Light due to Wake 4 times if you didn’t blast one after the 2 mins are up, the other 3 are due to the Light’s Deliverance stacks.
the 14 casts are when i click on hol-- try to test on a tar dummy and look at hammer of light-- how many casts and how many hits are you getting
Like i said, it’s not possible to cast HoL in 2 mins 14 times.
Show another screenshot after you click HoL in the details panel, so we can see it.

my best guess is that it is showing 1 cast for the primary target cast, and a 2nd cast for what would hit the 4 surrounding enemies. Since there are no surrounding enemies on that target dummy, it will only be 1 hit from the 2 casts.
Go do it on the 5 target dummies, you will see it will still be 2 casts, but will now show 5 hits.

I got a rogue that my hammer missed didnt had evasion or cloak up. I wish I could have saved the combat log… I havent play my paladin in pvp in a bit now.
I just went to a random mob and casted Hammer of Light once, Details just shows 2 casts.
It’s probably counting the aoe like Jaena said.
You can go and do 1 cast and it’ll show 2, fastest way to see the discrepancy.
So it’s not a missed cast.

Do you mean… posting here directly so people can see? Only tier 3 users can, the rest need to use the </> to preformat.
If you mean to actually download videos from youtube, i use https://snapsave.io/en43/youtube-mp4 for videos and the mp3 tab for just the audio.
