Tell us your accidental raid wipe?

I was tanking eye in sanctum. I used divine steed and ran straight off the edge on pull.

I hated doing that so much, but I was the only hunter so it was always me. :dracthyr_lulmao:

Back in Vanilla during ZG, I got sat for the Hakkar fight because for some reason the off-tank just couldn’t keep up threat (even if I just chilled for literally the 1st 30s to minute of the fight). I would randomly spike at the exact moment it was time for MC’s and end up being the one to be MC’d. After that I would go absolutely destroy the main tank or 2 of the healers. Eventually I just volunteered to not be in the Windfury group with our enhance shaman and took over the Nightfall duty instead of my usual weapon and it stopped being a problem. The crazy thing is we never had that type of threat issue with any other raid boss before or after until Patchwerk (though that just resulted in me tanking the floor from eating Hatefuls). To this day, we were never able to figure out why my threat would just skyrocket on those fights specifically and nowhere else. Near I can guess is I just had crazy good (or bad) RNG with Swordspec and Hand of Justice procs on those specific fights above normal.

Do legacy raids count? Lol. Was trying to do the Blood Infusion quest in ICC for the Legendary with 2 friends, but we thought I needed 1 more bite than I actually did, so we kept doing it over and over without killing the boss so it never counted lol.

I almost wiped an LFR Rashok because I forgot what to do with the Searing Slam and dropped it near the middle of the room lol. Then the next 3 dps also put theirs in the middle, and the 4th slam overlapped with another one lol.

Not a raid, but I did wipe a dungeon the other day because I (prot Pali) was really bored in a dungeon I didn’t like, so I pulled like half the dungeon, and figured we could probably take it, but I’d need to use Lay on Hands…well right before the dungeon I had moved LoH to a different spot on my bar, because it wasn’t key bound in the old spot. I went to click it, and it wasn’t there lol.

Back in the day, my main mistake was always accidentally BoP-ing the tank at a crucial moment.

We were progging Kil’jaeden, and just starting to figure out the best way to find Illidan. Didn’t have a DH in the roster, so we were relying on mini map tracking at this point - which was also super bugged at this time.

So, we’re progging, get to darkness phase, and I see a little dot that says Illidan. I begin to ping, and everyone follows it. Illidan is not there. He’s just not. He’s on the other side of the map. We wipe, and the RL is LIVID. He’s foaming, swearing, and spittling about which idiot did that. I said nothing. Night was wrecked as the mood for the following week was now overcast with an angry RL. Actually, that night was the catalyst for the raid deciding we were going to dissolve.

I never brought it up again until, years later, I was in a group call with some of the people who were part of that group.
“I never told anyone, but I was the one who pinged the map.” One of them said.
“No way. I was pinging like crazy.” x3

So it was a group effort to wipe the raid, and kill the team afterall :blue_heart:

I remember back in MC someone a little gnome fell off one of the bridges and landed right behind the boss. Needless to say that lead to a very funny wipe, We had boss and all the trash running at us.

Later we named it the Huggy memorial bridge.

Guessing thats why the name stuck. Haha Those old school UBRS runs were the ish!

Been a few, but the best one happened back during Karazhan. We has just finished clearing trash from the ballroom and part of the banquet hall and where standing on that first stairway off the foyer. Suddenly my pet and another hunter pet took off running towards the basement.

In vent:

“Huh… where are they going? They are on defensive, right?”

“Yup”

“Well, this can’t be good.”

Cue incoming mass of spiders.

My “Get Naked Fast” button got pushed just before I charged in to pull the boss. Immediately got smashed to the floor, followed closely by everyone else.

Pulling aggro on any of the 3 drakes in BWL and shadow-flaming the raid.

I remember before they fixed warlocks seed in Karazhan. You could end up pulling half the instance. Or on the ramp going up using seed on trash could do the same thing.

Onyxia back in vanilla. I was a shaman healer.

We were in the room before the main chamber. One of the raid members was taking about working on his fire resist. He asked me to drop a totem so he could check the amount. Right after I dropped it the raid leader told us all to head to Onyxia. After she was pulled, an elite dragonkin spawned in that room, saw my fire resist totem, got a bit angry, ran to the next room and murdered our healers who were in the back. Resulting in a wipe.

I had no idea that a mob would spawn when she was pulled. But admitted it was my fault.

I used the Demonic Gateway at a REALLY BAD time and started the raid. We all wiped. T_T

Thats okay, a group I was in was doing AQ20. We ran it every so often still in BC for fun. Anyway the boss with all the waves glitched because someone was standing on one of the walls and got agro. Anyway the entire thing glitched and we got all the waves and the boss at once. Talk about a painful wipe.

Just this week I spaced when tanking a pug heroic council on my DK and wanted to change the bear’s position for better cleave and aimed his tank frontal right through the raid and killed almost everyone.

/flex

Was like “my bad…won’t happen again.”

I wiped our guild on heroic Raszageth with my mage because I dropped lightning on the group.

I was tired and had used glyph of illusion to turn into a bear.

And I got the big AOE circle.

Bear tank: "Someone has still has lightning to drop out.
Group: It’s you…
Bear Tank: “What is i-”
Group: “No it’s Aletal!! ALETAL.”

I didn’t shimmer in time… I TOO was looking at him, thinking it was him, after turning into him, and having DBM SCREAM That it was me. So ya know.

I loved wands. When you were out of mana you could wand things to death.

I killed our raid last night on H Fyrakk.

Was on my DK trying to get the kill during our weekly clear.

Last phase rolls around and I pick up a seed. I get both Blaze and Swirling Firestorm. So I’m running out to our drop point and spam pressing my hotkey for the extra action button to drop my seed.

As it turns out when I linked the / command earlier to some of our new members I accidentally deleted it from the macro so I’m clicking a useless button.

Got hit by both, blew up seed which we ended up needing. Group wipes.

Killed on the next pull so whatever.

Took the fire to the branch on fyrakk - was the last pull of the night and I was out of it… I felt like the biggest idiot.
