Just about everything I wanted in an expansion, missing only old world zone and dungeon revamps.
I am so, so glad it’s not Light vs Void: Cosmic Disco Wars 2 Electric Boogaloo.

I personally didnt feel any tension at all watching it. The cinematic covers an event i have no investment in so far and it felt obvious would succeed, maybe die but wasnt going to fail. I think the “Azeroth’s protectors” and “new age of dragons” lines bugged me the most. Mortals got a decade and messed it up so bad.
The flying thing if done well will be more fun than the entirety of SL by itself. I believe its progress is also BoA.
They are fixing things I have been advocating that they fix for years. I’m quite happy. The core game has been damaged since WoD.
Time will tell if they go far enough, but so far I am cautiously optimistic.
No flying, no buying.
I just hope as a hunter, a duck can be tamed.
Pretty much the same as OP. I saw the reveal and really vibed with what they are saying.
Been playing a ton of ESO so I’m not attached to flying, but I have become accustomed just well designed fantasy zones and becoming a murder hobo again. That is nice, and I like not having to participate in cosmic conflicts when I just want to kill some bears.
It looks like a fun adventure. A fun adventure is something that has been sorely missing from WoW for a long time.
I loved the lanky, bouncy animations from the moment i saw them, but it was the GIF of the dance that locked it in for me.
I love doing a /dance while I wait for whatever, but I’m not in love with he dances of any of the races I currently play. I love, love, love that Drac dance.
That’s exactly the opposite of what I have read. The flights do have a renown system, but it’s all story and cosmetic based, and you can do all of them on one toon. Sounds fun.
Very much excited, Can’t wait to play the new dragon race.
I liked the cinematic, however, it didn’t actually explain why we’re going to the Dragon Isles.
With previous expansions there was; the threat of the Legion from the dark portal, the Lich King, Deathwing, Anduin missing, the Iron Horde, the Legion invasion, the need for allies for the Horde/Alliance war (which, to be honest, was a bit of a fizzer), and lastly because Sylvanas ripped a hole in the sky.
Looking at the new cinematic, there’s no obvious threat. Yeah, the dragons are going home but considering the Forsaken having no leader or home, the Night Elves having no home and the potential fallout from Anduin’s absence, why are we, as champions, going out there?
Cautiously hyped
At this point I’m just hoping to get into the beta, which will mark my first beta if so
Made me excited enough to resub. I’m still deciding which of my alts to level though…
I’m not at all hyped for dragonflight.
The new Talent trees have me hyped, and I’m going to be sad if they stink. Honestly everything else is a “We’ll let’s see how it goes.” I do LOVE when expansions give me more healing options and WoW’s only done it once but…
Well. It depends on how they implement them. I am excited to be an Evoker healer though.
OH! Did they mention glyphs? Like old glyphs? I’d love if my glyphs were cool again. As someone who joined in Cata, it was jarring to go from them being useful to just… dumb cosmetic options.
More Dragons?
/golfclap
Well it’s a mixed cup for me. I am definitely interested in Drak’thyr, and will give them a shot. However I am also concerned about a few things relating to the visages. Going to give it some time however, see how it all shakes out on Beta.
I’m always excited for a new expansion!! Can’t wait to see it!!
I’m pretty hyped—but still a little skeptical. They’ve said the right things so far. They’re nuking the bad from Shadowlands and BFA, getting back to what worked well in earlier iterations of WoW. Core game systems (press F for expansion-only nonsense), and improving things that stay with your character even after the expansion ends. And back to exploring Azeroth. So far, it’s showing that they’ve changed core design philosophies for the better.
I’m at a 7 or 8/10. Partly because there were a lot of extremely promising leaks that didn’t come true yet. But all in all, I am still excited for what we are getting.
