If you don’t like the Vanilla models then you didn’t want to play Classic. Too many people here have a pick-and-choose mentality.
Im not gonna dignify this will a full response, because I have several times over already.
Blizzard’s pick and choose mentality is the worst of all here. also outlined in the thread above
“Because Blizzard has changed one thing, that means we can go on and change x, y, z, too…”
Now tell me how “slippery slope” is a “fallacy”.
And you want more exceptions? No thanks.
It’s not a remaster, Blizzard never stated this. They described it as being as faithful to the original as possible, with as few changes/modifications as possible.
Terrible idea for a role playing game. No one wants to look differently to different people, and it could cause a lot of confusion for people on different graphic settings. Being client-side only isn’t a valid excuse.
Character models isn’t as big of a non-issue as you seem to make it.
Retail doesn’t abide by the same set of rules that WoW classic does in regards to “As little changes as possible”.
No changes means no changes unless there’s a REALLY REALLY good reason. This is not a good reason. The models from 2004-2006 are still perfectly viable, and the only reason to change them would be to appease a small minority of graphical perfectionists. Which is not a good reason.
Have a good day sir! /shoo
the only reason it’s in is because you couldnt fly cross continent. It was point to point. another #change that went into classic.
Uhh, no. I see you failed to comprehend the statement that was quoted.
For the love of all that is whatever, this would only be seen by the person using it, NO ONE ELSE! It will confuse no one, because again, NO ONE ELSE WILL SEE IT BUT THE PERSON USING IT! How hard is that to understand?
Edit: And i just realized im getting annoyed at something i dont care about to begin with, fml, these forums make me crazy sometimes lol
Doesn’t matter. It’s not part of Vanilla, so it doesn’t belong in Classic.
Sorry that slightly lower poly count models are ruining the game for you, guess you only thought you did.

And you want more exceptions? No thanks.
If we’re taking half measures, absolutely. Classic is a half measure.

It’s not a remaster, Blizzard never stated this. They described it as being as faithful to the original as possible, with as few changes/modifications as possible.
I can drop a deuce and describe it as being a true representation of the burger I ate 8 hours before. Doesn’t make it true.

The jist is the same. Brown haired human with a pornstache in old models is a Brown haired human with a pornstache in new models.

No changes is a meme dream long dead. There are still private servers out ther if you want the actual thing. this isnt it.

If I have 2019 models on, and my friend has 2005 models on, our player characters will look differently to each other. In a role playing game, perception is everything.
Plus there’s really no good reason for improved models when the existing ones are still viable for a 2019 game. It’s not like original WoW was running on Sega Genesis graphics.
If graphics are ruining the game for you, then you really didn’t want WoW Classic in the first place. You wanted something adulterated and different.
@ the undead mage, shoo shoo! You already got pwned by my responses and I don’t need to talk to you anymore.

Sorry that slightly lower poly count models are ruining the game for you, guess you only thought you did.
As i stated in previous posts, i dont care one way or the other, but this whole no changes because reasons thing irritates me. No changes to game play, sure, i get that, i even agree with it. No LFG , none of that stuff. But no changes to a persons personal experience on their screen, that effects no one else, i dont get that argument.
That’s not a change.
https://wowwiki.fandom.com/wiki/Patch_1.10.0
“New Final Destination Flight Paths!”
“If you’re making several jumps to get to your destination, you will now be able to choose that flight path from your initial Flight Master. The costs will remain the same, but you no longer need to manually click on each path. The UI has also been improved significantly.”
who said they were ruining the game for me? I never did. Guess you just failed to comprehend the thread
My argument is that new models are in no way detrimental. Anyone who says they are is delusional and wants to dictate how others enjoy the game.

If I have 2019 models on, and my friend has 2005 models on, our player characters will look differently to each other. In a role playing game, perception is everything.
Except, unless you are looking at your friends screen instead of your own, you wont know the difference, because the changes are only your, or whoever the heck used the darned toggle in this scenario’s, screen.

Like I said, you only “thought you did”. There’s more to Vanilla than just “gameplay”. You just admitted that you want to pick and choose aspects to keep and end up with a frankengame.
1.10, didnt exist when the game came out, instead roped into this 1.13 mystery patch. If you want a true experience, why not put it in with the rest of the 1.10 stuff that got rolled into a phase? #NOCHANGES

who said they were ruining the game for me?
Certainly not me since I was clearly replying to someone else. Wow you have issues with conversation and reading comprehension.
So, are you telling me that classic, as we have it, is a 99.999% accurate representation of actual vanilla?
Thought that’s how retail is? Where you can use old models if you didn’t want all your orcs looking like Garrosh

If I have 2019 models on, and my friend has 2005 models on, our player characters will look differently to each other. In a role playing game, perception is everything.
But youll both be enjoying the game your way. wheres the harm?
