##WALL OF TEXT WARNING##
My buddies and I were reminiscing about past expansions earlier and a funny story came up.
During BC & WotLK I was a major troll on my server. My antics were pretty well-known and while I had tons of friends on the server that enjoyed my shenanigans, there were some people that could not stand me.
The GM of one guild in particular absolutely hated my guts and that became a well-known fact on the server. Any time I tried to join a group that she was in, she would either leave it, or if she was leading it, refuse to invite me. Stuff like that (and worse) happened all throughout BC and into WotLK.
Fast forward to the end of Ulduar/beginning of ToC days in WotLK. The guild that my friends and I were in ended up disbanding after getting 3 tree Freya & Firefighter and we ended up looking for a new guild.
We were in one of the top guilds on the server, well geared and experienced, so finding a new guild wasn’t really an issue. We finally decided on a guild, but before we joined I needed to go undercover–the guild we had decided to join was ran by the aforementioned GM who hated my guts and we all knew she would never invite me to her guild.
I ended up swapping to my DK and joining on him and used a different name that the GM did not know me by. It wasn’t easy, but all of my friends somehow managed to avoid calling me by my mains name and blowing my cover, this went on for months. My friends and I actually ended up advancing to officer & raid leader positions and basically taking over leadership of the guild for the most part.
About 6 months or so after joining the guild a group of us, including the GM who hated me, were all casually doing Wintergrasp and chatting in Ventrilo when someone brought up “that damn troll” that the GM hated, wondering what had happened to him because he hadn’t been seen on the server for quite a while.
After about 10 minutes worth of them chatting about me and telling stories about stuff that I had done in the past and why they hated me I simply couldn’t take it anymore. I finally came clean and told them exactly who I was and even logged into my original main to prove it.
My DK was immediately kicked from the guild.
After about 30 minutes worth of chatting back and forth with the GM who hates my guts she finally said told me I shouldn’t have lied to her in order to join the guild. I explained to her that I never lied, I joined on my DK and nobody ever asked me who my main was.
And that is how I got a GM to make a special question on their guild application that was “Are you Turack?” (my original mains name).
