Seems like a good Horde server. Would like to know about it.
I haven’t been in the server for awhile so I’ll tell you what I know so far. It’s a busy server horde dominated lots of guilds. Check out WoW progress for guild info and pop in the server on a level one toon and see if you like the feel.

It’s better than Illidan. Illidan is full of gold farmers, people spamming in Chinese in chat channels, and try-hards with bad attitudes. Area 52 is the best highly populated horde server. Followed by Thrall, then Emerald Dream. In my opinion.

Ok warn you, it’s a very active and busy realm but when anything new come out shyt it killed so quick by the masses on that realm it is very hard to complete quests. I moved off it cuz I was tired of fighting the masses. Now Thrall is a step down in crowds from Area 52 and it’s not as crazy either with mass killings of quest items. Gl!
just around the time of realm coalescing, there were more Area52 horde in Darnassus and Goldshire than alliance from my realm
Trade chat is borderline unusable because of the services spam. Auction house is pretty cut throat with so many people supplying materials.
Otherwise its great.
Area 52 is the poorman’s attempt at Area 51.
It’s where WoW’s Alliance and Horde governments store the evidence of Draenei UFOs and their secret tech that they’ve secretly been trying to reverse engineer for weaponization purposes since the Draenei started “invading” ala Men In Black… wait something about that ain’t right 
look into the red dot on the neuralyzer…

The goblins say they’re just testing advanced aerial technology there, but we all know they’re keeping sexy goth alien waifus from us.
Make a trial toon and play on Area 52 for awhile, see if you like it.

Emerald Dream best most flavorful realm.
I like it a lot. Lots of pugs with others from it. Maybe a bit too large for a real connected community. That said, the economy is very active, prices are generally pretty low, lots of nice people among it all. Trade chat spam is the worst I’ve ever seen…so many run sales. No hate-fueled trolls as I’ve seen on smaller servers though.
Its a good horde server, with 300% more alliance player…

I’ve been playing on Area 52 for years, I love it. I used to play on Thrall as well, that one is good too.
Been maining on Area 52 since the beginning of MoP. Wonderful server running on EST, with plenty of guilds for any type of activity/content level. However, there aren’t many 2 day raiding guilds that don’t raid on Thursdays nor are there too many super late night guilds(That have any meaningful progression, that is).
