So if you take the portal from the Orgrimmar to Dalran your able to fly with your flying mounts, but if you use the Dalaran Hearthstone to teleport to Dalaran you will not be able to fly… I’m really confused here, can someone help me out?
It’s because you are a horde.
There are 2 different Dalaran cities: Northrend Dalaran (in the Crystal Song zone) and Legion/Broken Isle Dalaran.
The portal room takes you to Northrend Dalaran. The hearthstone takes you to Legion Dalaran.
To fly in Northrend, all you need to do is buy the riding master passive from a trainer (used to be a cold weather flying license but that was phased out). I think it’s 5k gold.
To fly in legion you need to have unlocked flying with Legion Pathfinder Part 2.

Its a lot of work but it’s account-wide.
Same city, different expansions and points in time. The Dalaran portal will take you to the Dalaran version in Northrend during the Wrath of the Lich KIng expansion, so the flying you purchase from your trainer will be usable there. The Dalaran hearthstone will take you to the Dalaran version in the Broken Isles during Legion. Flying there is only accessible through the Pathfinder mechanic.
Yep I realized my mistake right after I posted this… Was drunk when I wrote this…
The Stormwind Militia recommends to not portal or fly while intoxicated. Unless you’re a dwarf.
