Not to mention sylvanas plan was probably to have the alliance try to retake the tree, and then burning it killing all the people and the army trying to liberate it
but sylvanas fans somehow thing that would have been better
I don’t know. One grudge matches does not justify a genocide.
Not that anything would justify genocide in the first place.
“Tyrande got her vengeance for Teldrassil”
What is she doing in shadowlands then someone should tell tyrande she already got her vengeance, so she doesnt take up all the screen time she is taking
It is a right proper mess that the writers put themselves, and us, in. I’m very curious if they will actually build upon Teldrassil, because I think it is a bit too big to be swept under the rug. And I don’t think Alliance players will let them, lest of all me.
Teldrassil needed to happen in the middle of the expansion. It ought to have been the reason Baine et al rebelled against Sylvanas. If it needed to happen in the beginning, it ought to have been the Night Elves burning it down to spite the Horde. Have the Horde invade Teldrassil, and then Tyrande confronts them, calls on the power of Elune, and sets the whole tree ablaze, forcing the Horde to desperately retreat from the flames.
I was quoting a writer (hence the “”), who more or less said in an interview when asked about Tyrande’s absence from BFA for most part and when her and the Night Elves’ story would continue/get closure that “We feel Tyrande got her vengeance for Teldrassil by retaking Darkshore, that wraps up that story.”
Naturally, people were out for blood after that spouted stupidity.
And that matters today how? theres something called shadowlands coming out you know, so bringing up a dev,(who isnt a writer by the way)
who was wrong does what ?
Lol, no we weren’t.
At no point did anyone think there would be a resolution to the faction conflict. One side was never going to defeat the other, and the two sides weren’t going to come together. And anyone who thought otherwise was insane.
… you’re very bad at this.
You claimed they weren’t trying to sweep it under a rug in response to another poster, when, for the entirety of BFA they were doing EXACTLY that.
looks at shadowlands spoilers they arent sweeping it under the rug
Not matching expectations doesn’t change what we were sold on.
It wasn’t too long ago that they announced they’re coming up with ideas for where the night elves’ new home could be. Which implies that they never even thought about it when they came up with the brilliant idea of torching Teldrassil. They had no plan whatsoever for post-Burning. Also, keep in mind that the Night Warrior was originally going to be Maiev, but they realized Tyrande had no story whatsoever, so they made it her instead.
One of the most consequential plot points for both factions was done haphazardly and on the fly. Metzen didn’t even know about the Burning, and he was involved with the early planning for BfA, including working on the opening cinematic.
a xpac about the faction war, which you did get
Alex Afrasiabi: We feel the Alliance-Horde divide is foundational and fundamental to World of Warcraft as a franchise and as a story, but we danced around it for a very long time. We’ve had run-ins, we’ve had close calls, but we’ve never been able to finish it—to have that resolution. We’re coming out of this expansion, Legion, and the world is not in a great place—the players and the factions themselves are not in a great place because there is all of this old animosity that hasn’t been resolved. It’s time to resolve it.
They did though, just because they’re unsweeping now doesn’t change that.
but they didnt, cause shadowlands continues the story
you know xpacs, take years to make right?
Fair enough.
Would explain why thrall is lowkey depressed about everything going on, the VA/ Creator doesn’t really approve of what they’ve done with his child sad days man
Arkturas, I was searching for the quote when you posted this, thank you.
Credit for owning up to it I guess!
