Teldrassil:
-Let’s invade a capital, take hostages, and force a peace on our terms
-First let’s trick their army into leaving
-Darn, the hostage taking failed
-Just kill them instead and call it good
-Woops, they hate us now and want revenge.

I can’t wait to see what BFA’s writers come up with next!
Our tactical genius everyone, wonder what Stratagem she employs next…
Maybe get a large group of elite Korkron to harrass that gnome who owes her money, or preform a suicide mission to wipe out a heavilly defended out of the way fortress because the leader said she wasn’t as hot as her sister, or maybe send her own people to the gulag because they want to know, why is she so grumpy today?
We didn’t destroy their city and kill the non-combatants living in it. Jaina even says right after the cinematic that “King Wrynn wants to avoid civilian casualties.” Did Sylvanas ever try to avoid civilian casualties?
To be fair during one of the Dev interviews they did say Daza’lor was meant to be the Alliance balancing the tables with Teldrasil and for good measure they appeared to try and balance out Slyvanas laughing in Anduin’s face at siege of Lorderon with Jaina, lol noping out.
There’s a big difference between waging extermination on half a continent, and burning down the main city and home of an entire race versus attacking the docks and moving to the king. The civilians took up arms and defended their city, making them combatants, the Night Elves fled to their homes and were burnt alive for it.
What were the Alliance supposed to do? Ignore the shop keeps actively trying to stab them in the face?
