Technomages Incoming?

It looks like the next new class added is going to be Technomage. Perhaps for the next expansion.

Try to make a toon with that name or Technomancy on any server and watch what happens. The name is rejected immediately. Search the armory and there are zero toons with those names. But you can make a toon with the name Techno(whatever) and (whatever)mage. They’ve locked down Technomage and Technomancy.

I suppose its possible, and interesting if so. I just wonder if anyone who had a toon with that name had it forced-changed at any time. That would be a more solid proof.

Oh wow, just tested and now Techno is locked down, can’t even make a nonsense name with it and I could last night! ie: Technomqxzj for example. But (whatever)Mage is still doable.

I am hoping for witches. With cool them of cauldron as a weapon for tank spec. Just reach in and pull out what you need. through a potion or spoon of stuff around for argo.

Technomages would be an answer for a tinker class. Hmmmmmmmmmm, in a year or so I guess we’ll see what they have planned but it seems a bit telling they’ve locked down those names and apparently also Techno.

Nah, quite a few movies and games have Technomages, it’s like using Warrior and Shaman you can’t copyright that.

I would both be excited and incredibly peeved.

For various reasons that frankly would take me all day to sort through as I have great difficulty putting thought to paper. (or text in this case)

Oooh they could call it “Technomancer”

Sounds cool, but I think I’d rather have a tinker class.

I mean I’d rather a Tinker class that relied on pure science and engineering then introducing magic into the mix but I’ll take anything for my Gnome/Goblin brethren at this point.

Rather get Tinker class than technomage…. It also would be cool for us to get a hero class… that you know isn’t elf restricted.

Going to be real honest, I personally don’t want another Hero class that skips about 100 levels.

I mean one or two is fine but I’d be pretty miffed if all classes after Demon Hunter were Hero classes.

Tinkers, or whatever they were called, would be a profession rather than a class. And its quite possible that, rather than a class, it could be a new profession. Since they removed First Aid, perhaps they are looking at giving players another option for something to work on for their characters by way of a change.

Wouldn’t that just be engineering? It be nice to have another class that’s on the more mundane side of things. We’ve already got a lot of magic flying around now.

We just need another mail class… and one that can specifically use ranged weapons.
