Technology in WoW

So… Gnomes have laser weapons. And flying machines. Whole underground mechanical cities and robots. Goblins have similar tech, minus a robotic city. Why havn’t either created an atomic nuke? Garrosh made the Theramore bomb and it was kinda like a nuke. Or space flight? Or phones? Where’s all the NPCs playing on their phones? I want WoW to be more realistic, and all NPCs should be staring at pocket devices at all times. Sittin in Org? Have em stare at a pocket device. Black Mirror WoW style.

Honestly the theramore bomb was an even bigger threat than a nuke imo

Gob Squad has made use of suitcase nukes in Hillsbrad against Alliance troop buildups. So they exist.

Mechagon is even more advanced than that.

They wont touch weapons of mass destruction in anything more than a… cursory “magic” sort of way.

They also wont do… you know… flying vehicles into buildings, for the same reasons.

IIRC the mana bomb was pretty minor until an arcane savy goblin got a hold of it mixing tech and magic.

Cause if realism, Theramore would probably be the size of a small to medium metropolitan, say like Reno/Sparks.

And now imagine what would happen if say Gnomes or Goblins got their hands on the Doomstone, which was described as being equal to three Tsar Bombs half way charged… lol, and it was 80% charged when legion happened…

Pretty sure it runs off Harry Potter logic, since magic does pretty much everything tech does, everybody just uses that out of convenience.

Or have them join an in-game version of the Metaverse. It’s a virtual world inside a virtual world, amirite?

Mind :exploding_head:

I mean the Horde had catapults that basically launched ICBMs considering they hit Teldrasil from the dang shore…miles away lol.

Draenei have that already.

I know. And they have space ships. I guess I meant more why don’t they go colonize the stars? They should be developing faster than light space travel.

And they should all be addicted to Candy Crush

A fantasy focused on individual heroism and agency on the battlefield is not likely to realistically depict the true power of artillery and WMDs.

They already did. That’s where they came from. Problem is, their planets have a habit of exploding, so I think they’re sticking it out to see how long Azeroth takes to pop.

Really? How have I not read this lore? I thought they were just like dwarves and humans with the curse of flesh? Like there’s titan like gnomes in Ulduar.

No idea, chief.

Orcs are also aliens that came here through a Stargate, in case you somehow didn’t know that either.

You’re BSing me, I’m right. They are descended from the titan creations.

:expressionless:

I guess I should have expected this from someone who made a “we should have cell phones in WoW” thread.

Dude they’re from Azeroth, not from space. Afflicted with the same curse of flesh.

I know Orcs are Aliens from Draenor. Hurrr durrr warcraft 1 much??

Should have expected as much from someone who took my post seriously.

You do remember that we were talking about Draenei, right?
