Hi all-
Questions: Computer is 1.5 years old (out of warranty) and starting to have load issues. Basically I have F12 on start up and tell the computer to use boot manager. Cyberpower was going to have me send the comp in but then when they saw I was 6 months out of warranty they balked.
Anyways, I’m not a tech guy, but I assume it’s the motherboard.
Is swapping out a motherboard (if i get the exact same one) relatively straightforward to do ?
Is there a site that can look at my current components and recommend upgrades?
The PC is not booting properly as in it can’t see your HDD? It may not be a faulty Mobo. Have you played around with your BIOS settings recently?
To answer your questions;
The mobo is straightforward to replace although I would not necessarily say it;s as easy as a drive, CPU, GPU, or even PSU upgrade. I would recommend taking pictures as to how you have everything set up. That said I’m not certain your mobo is the issue from a hardware perspective or that necessarily you should swap it with the same one.
Speccy is a free program and one of many that will show you hardware info. It’s fairly easy to use.
Can also try replacing the battery and seeing if there’s a newer bios available.
Still using a HDD? Could be on its way out as well or just some file got corrupt. Could also try a fresh Windows install, just be sure to install your motherboard drivers and such as well.
