Hey all,
Was hoping to get some suggestions from the folks out there that are familiar with the Warcraft universe and it’s lore. My guild is planning to have 2 raid teams going into Wrath. The officers thought that instead of calling them something generic, like A Team and B Team, it would be cool to name them after fictional characters or creatures from the Warcraft universe. For example - Team Jaina / Tyrandre or Team Malygos / Ysera.
Unfortunately I don’t know the lore well enough to chose properly. I’d like for the names to fit appropriately into the era and faction that we play - Alliance (Wrath Classic)
Any and all help is much appreciated - Thank you!

What cool idea. Ok so maybe you can tell us what team A and Team B will be specializing with?
And instead of something generic like Team Jaina we can give you something more specific like… Theramore Marines.
I think Team Wrynn and Team Proudmoore would be cool, they are both prominent Alliance characters who play a role in the events of Northrend. Runners up would be:
Team Windrunner (In reference to Vereesa, Ranger-General of the Silver Covenant)
Team Fordring (In reference to Tirion the Commander of the Argent Crusade)
Team Whisperwind or Stormrage (Tyrande & Malfurion)
Team Bronzebeard (In reference to the Bronzebeard brothers Brann, Muradin and Magni)
Team Mekkatorque (Gelbin Mekkatorque, King of the Gnomes)
Team Velen (Prophet/Leader of the Draenei)
There are also WC3 references that can be used like Hydromancers of Theramore or Mountain King units for the dwarves.

Thank you for the reply! Not sure what you mean by “specializing with” but both teams will be raiding 10-person content in Wrath Classic. The first team will be pretty serious in terms of progression, while the 2nd team will be for the members that want to raid much more casually. Hope that answers your question.
I should note that one thing we really want to avoid with the names is making one team feel like the “cool club” sort of speak. Some people floated ideals like “Progression/Casual Team” or “Alpha/Bravo”, but to me that that makes one team seem superior/better than the other. Maybe that’s just me?
I think in order avoid the problem of who is the special team and who is not.
Then Nithae’s suggestion is a great one.
There are two surviving Alliance characters who have a big bone to pick with Arthas and those two are Jaina and Muradin.
Their family names are Proudmoore and Bronzebeard.
So you can assign one family to each team… if you want to be even more nerdy about it then use “Proudmoore Mariners” and “Bronzebeard Rangers” to make teams more special.
As for who should be a serious and casual teams… honestly, put it up to a vote! Both of these are so interchangeable that can work for any intended role the team should take.

Team Argent/Team Scourge
Team Tuskarr
Team “In The Mountains”
Heydir Hidir Hodir
Borean Me To Tears
Grizzly Heals
ICC Dead People
Team “One in the dress!”, and team “Fire fire! Aim THEN fire!”.
Bolvar’s Fist and Mograine’s Revenge?
Team Sylvanas for the casual group
Team Even More Sylvanaser for the Hard core one.
Kidding - but more seriously, I thought this one was great :
Some really good responses so far - much appreciated! I think my favorite so far is Team Proudmore / Bronzebeard or Team Proudmore / Stormrage
Keep them coming!
some nice suggestions so far!
Another idea coule be…
Different names of iconic starting area mobs.
Like Team :
Gnoll
Trogg
Boar
Murloc
Harpy
Thr Grizzly Hills and the Howling Fjords. You both get awesome theme music.
Hey, you might be onto something there. Maybe name them after iconic mobs?
Team Hogger and Team… what’s a mob as well known as Hogger?
