No rings dropping from 4th chest in ZA, supposed to be
This change was made with the WOTLK prepatch in 3.0.
At that time, the Amani War Bear is removed, and replaced with a second ring drop.
It was indeed not added in wotlk pre patch, it was out from launch of ZA
Feel free to browse the patch notes from 2.3 to 3.02. You won’t find it, because it’s not true.

This is from when the Cloak of Fiends and stuff was added to the chests in 2.3.2.
You will see the 4th chest is mentioned.
The first chest always has an armor reward, the second a weapon, the third a ring and the fourth has just one reward: the coveted Amani War Bear.

As of Patch 3.0, the bear has been removed, and the fourth chest now drops the same rings as you get from the third timed chest.
That’s because it wasn’t in the patch notes, it was a blue post.

Guess I was remembering wrong when both would drop.
