TBC WoW Token

RMT is RMT. Either you are for it or against it. Let me try to explain it to you.

The government says that something is bad. You aren’t allowed to own a pen. Pens are dangerous and anyone caught with a pen will be thrown in the gulag.

Is the pen dangerous? Should it be banned? The question isn’t whether you can only buy a pen from the government or not.

Now lets take RMT. The government (Blizzard) says RMT is illegal and anyone who does it gets banned. Then they say. Nevermind, RMT is fine and you can buy gold from us.

Which is it? Is RMT bad or not? make up your mind.

I am of the mind RMT is RMT, and RMT is bad. Period.

RMT is the definition Blizzard gives for paying real money for in game currency or objects.

Whatever you buy from Blizzard is not considered RMT.

See, facts doesn’t care about your feelings. If in your feelings wow token is RMT, well, paying a subscription is already a RMT. Good luck with that.

I think you’re hitting a mental block here I’m not against WoW tokens I’m against third party RMT as I said above but you’re too busy trying to block what isn’t palatable to your narrative that you don’t see it. So again RMT to third parties is a horrible idea it encourages the people that actively undermine the economy by exploiting botting. Buying tokens from Blizz hurts who? Its a transfer of gold from player A to player B via Blizz. I’m not here to change your mind I don’t care what you think I just can’t wait to see if they add their token to TBCC.

So you are against RMT but also for RMT.

Please tell me, how is it different to give someone money in return for gold, versus giving someone money in return for gold.

I can take a whack at it. It basically boils down to this. Let’s say Bob is a farmer and he enjoys selling stuff. Right now Bob farms 1000g in 2 days and then turns the 1000g into $10. This is how Bob makes cash.

Now, let’s add the token in. Now all of a sudden, people can buy 1000g for, say, $20. Does it cost more? It does, but at the same time, it’s safe and you don’t have to risk any shady transactions.

Bob realizes he’s losing customers now because people are buying gold using the game service instead of his service, so Bob comes up with a plan. Bob decides he wants to sell 1000g now for $5 instead of $10, making it a quick sale. Bob then realizes by doing this he’s still spending just as much time but is now making half of what he normally made.

Bob is sad.

So if the Government told you that you could only buy something from them, you’d be fine with it.

Got it.

it doesn’t actually fix any problems. you do realize that, right?

What happens in several countries where you have to pay for public pension fund, and you can’t opt out.
The difference here is that you can or you cannot buy wow token from Blizzard.

why don’t you simply elaborate instead of just being in denial?

Yes and no. It might sway some practices to look at it and think “Is this really worth the effort?” if all of sudden they are doing the same work and making even less now. There are plenty of other games out there that might catch their eye.

Am I saying all of them? No, I’m not, but I’d imagine some would, and any less gold farmers, the better.

I also have the ability to opt out here. Thank god for that.

Is there an OFFICIAL blizz announcement URL available?

Nope. This is just us showing this level of displeasure at even the possibility.

The only people for this are the ones that would still buy gold from the gold sellers, because it will become much cheaper.

Well, that is part of the game. People leave, people come.
What it isn’t part of the game is a basket full of whining crybabies complaining about everything.
