TBC+ solution

so rather than a normal tbc release for all tbc servers, have at least one tbc server that is tbc+. in tbc+, there are 4 new races, not just 2. however, the 2 additional races are temporary outland only playable allies, just for tbc.

horde gets ogres and alliance gets ethereals. both races are asexual, meaning there are no male and female options and gear is not visible, simplifying the devs job.

ALSO, lower the amount of playable classes/specs based on the type of race - et.al, ogres are good tanks but terrible healers, so they cant be paladins, priests, rogues, hunters or druids. they can only be elemental shaman, warriors, mages or warlocks. ethereals are good at magic classes but terrible at most forms of melee with the exception of rogues, so they can be mages, warlocks, priests, rogues but not paladins, hunters, druids or shaman.

ogres get tanky racials, ethereals get troll haste. this will help even out one of the big racials issues in tbc. also give alliance pallies the equivalent of seal of blood.

when tbc+ is over, ogres and ethereals dont cross over into wotlk expac, as wotlk solves many tbc issues.

The lack of faith in the new blizzard lead to the #nochages crowd. So the response here isn’t a surprise. I find it interesting to talk about even though it’s a pipe dream.

Personally I don’t think this idea you’re proposing fixes any issues besides the SoB idea. Not that it’s bad, just not what even people interested in the tbc+ wanna hear. I would call this filler in the sense this doesn’t change the framework it just adds unnecessary fluff to a game with issues. Imo if you’re going to do a tbc+ fixing it’s issues is kinda the point and should be the focus. Doing it in the spirit of what was is tricky. It’s also the most dividing part of talking about it.

Vanilla and classic for example

Mage dungeon farming/boost breaks the classic fame and would have been changed. At the very least they would have changed how group exp works.
This would fix the afk exp meta and force people into the world which was the entire point of vanilla. Sure it would anger some but it’s what vanilla was.

I’d like to see the addition of a horde race of undead who’s body has totally rotted away. You get a torso and a head and in character creation can pick a couple of body parts, like a leg or arm. The main dps comes from head butting and you can attach a dagger or one hand sword to your head. If you pick two arms and no legs your dps will be higher but you’ll have to drag yourself through the game with your arms. Or you can pick one arm and one leg and hop through the game.

For the alliance you get a race smaller than gnomes since gnomes are too large to be the smallest race in the game. For dps you cut off toes, because that’s all you can reach. Each toe removed has a bleed effect. If enough toes are cut off the mob is prone to tripping and moves slower.

i’ve been reviewing class/race/faction problems for tbc and the big sore spots are troll haste and blood elf paladin seal of blood. trying to head off the problems with a temporary option that 1) adds interest to playing alliance on pvp realms and 2) provides quality of life fixes for alliance rogues and paladins
