Not sure why this is still not a thing, I cant stand retail and Sod is a hot mess of random wrath garbage thrown into a classic world at this point. This needs to happen, one or two servers pve/pvp is all people are asking for.
It is also worth noting that this post just increased my trust level to 2, clearly this is what blizzard wants even if they don’t know it.

I wish they’d make 1 permanent TBC era server. Add dual spec and raid wide buffs and keep everything else normal. Every time I see people below say that TBC was not received well, I beg to differ since we see so many people who want it back. Clearly that means it was received well.

Anyone able to fill me in on why we don’t have TBC servers?

It’s basically because Blizzard naively tricked themselves into believing that classic players really wanted to replay down the entire retail timeline again, and see their characters forced into new expansions after months/years of raiding for end-game bis in the former expansion.

In short, Blizz was just clueless about what the Classic project had the potential to be, and what players were really asking for.

There should be an “Era” for both TBC and WOTLK.

They only considered “How do we get a short-term bump in subscriptions?” while never considering “What will lead to sustained long-term volume of subscriptions”.

Blizzard completely misinterpreted the problems with TBC Classic towards the end, and they completely botched the character cloning system, as well as the way they made every classic server be both a vanilla era and a TBC server at the same time. This created a ton of low population servers and everyone got super frustrated trying to raid and do heroics, leading them to quit playing.

Then we took a break, hoping the situation would improve when TBC era servers happened, but instead they just screwed us and killed TBC Classic completely. Then we couldn’t even express our outrage, because we had unsubbed for our break and the forums locked us out from posting… and then realized there was no point in resubbing because TBC Classic was gone.

They think TBC isn’t popular enough to support era servers. They are 100% wrong… they just handled TBC Classic so poorly, they basically sabotaged it.

If only Blizzard would admit their mistakes instead of pretending to draw the wrong conclusions.

Almost 10k as of this morning NA Central time (just went and looked at their website).

TBC era ABSOLUTELY has enough players who want it to keep a server or 2 going as an era realm.
