I think what WOULD work is a Fresh TBC starting at Level 1 unlike Classic TBC of 2021 where people carried over tons of Gold, this would put everyone on a level playing field from the start.

And not some SoM or SoD TBC abomination… just no changes classic TBC.
Even if all we get is an already fully progressed server, I wouldn’t be mad. Its better than nothing.
All you are doing is forcing hardcore TBC and now WoTLK fans to resort to private servers again.

It’s basically because Blizzard naively tricked themselves into believing that classic players really wanted to replay down the entire retail timeline again, and see their characters forced into new expansions after months/years of raiding for end-game bis in the former expansion.
In short, Blizz was just clueless about what the Classic project had the potential to be, and what players were really asking for.
There should be an “Era” for both TBC and WOTLK.
They only considered “How do we get a short-term bump in subscriptions?” while never considering “What will lead to sustained long-term volume of subscriptions”.

The easy fix is just surveying the player base about it, they would have seen a contingent of us want to stay in this expansion!

Hindsight is 20/20 and TBC is the best version of wow in the trilogy, this is after playing the first 3 classics. TBC had the perfect mix of everything.
