Now that people’s getting the TBC launch out of their bones, please separate the mount from the “deluxe edition”. I’m not up for spending $70 on an xpac that I won’t play and have already paid for 10 years ago, but I’ll gladly spend $20-$30 for the retail mount.
Yeah, it actually is a cool looking mount. Like you I believe $70 is way too much for just a mount.
And players such as yourself are much loved by Blizzard and their ever-increasing spiral of monetisation of this game I love. I’m sure they will in time do just that, because every person who spends $20-$30 bucks on a mount from the shop is an easy plus for them.
No need to spend time and money on game development and making WoW better to make money, I guess.
Get out with that. I will freely use my disposable income as I wish.
Did I say you can’t? Feel free to do that. I’ll continue to feel free to voice my opinion.
You didn’t but you heavily implied that shop mounts are hurting the game. They’re purely cosmetic and shouldn’t be an issue with anyone.
OK, how would you feel if, rather than putting them in the shop, they were put into the game to be able to be earned by playing the game? For example, make them part of a quest chain to be followed through Outland or through the Secret Finder Discord like the Lucid Nightmare?
I’d have no problem with that, because it would create game content that everyone (regardless of their ‘disposable income’ or lack thereof) could earn. They take the easy way of putting it in the shop to earn that extra $$ rather than giving us stuff to do in the game. That’s my major complaint.
Why do you have an issue with how people spend their money?
Also the more money Blizz makes the better it is for WoW so what’s the problem with them adding things to the store?
There’s 600+ mounts in the game. It’s okay to put one in the store every once in a while. Especially when you consider how much money they generate
Yeah. Someone in another thread put it best imo when they said Blizz used to be 50% business and 50% pleasure. Now they’re 90% business. The store mounts have not been a good addition to the game imo
I’m not against it, while they are at it, can they please separate the blizzconline mount stuff separate to the store.
It’s all fair game, right
Right on. Can they put the Black Qiraji Battle Tank on the shop, and maybe the TBC PvP mounts? Oh, and Invincible while they are at it…
Well not really.
I don’t care if they separate or bring back mounts.
I think separating already on the store mount packages is fine.
Cash pays for development. I don’t understand the dislike of having others pay more to cover costs.
It makes zero sense.
Well, I guess that’s one issue that we disagree on. However, I think if they’re going to sell it at all, they should sell it separately, to avoid making people pay extra for things they don’t need.
I would say no. But give it 6 months. That’s usually when these kind of mounts pop up on the cash shop.
Overblown sense of entitlement and FOMO.
It really isn’t a matter entirely about where the money goes. It’s the fact that rather than put such things to be earned in the game, as content with a fun reward, its put in a shop to be paid for with cash. Zero effort beyond handing over your credit card.
That makes zero sense to me.
We have a wonderful game here that has always been about play and getting neat stuff while we do that. I’m just not fond of them taking the view that tempting us to pay for something is an improvement.
Besides, when has the money from store mounts ever gone to improving the game? “Bobby’s yacht” is a meme for a reason.
You realize you can buy cash shop items with gold, right? There, your credit card-less way of purchasing it. Sure, someone else is paying for it, but you’re not and the person who did pay for the token is quite happy with their gold.
So it is still being paid for. If not by me, then by someone else. I case my rest.
