TBC Graphics settings

HI all, just started playing again and I’m noticing when I do dungeons there’s so much sparkle and flash I cant see the mobs half the time. What graphics setting should I use to make the game look goof but at the same time eliminate the flash/sparkle?

If you turn the settings down to 7 or lower, it should reduce a lot of the flashy stuff and clutter. I would just play with it until you find what works well for you.

Turning ‘Particle Density’ to low should help a lot.

Might be unrelated, but there’s a bloom effect that I always keep turned off in WoW (it can be REALLY overblown in Vanilla content).

Disable with /console ffxglow 0 and re-enable with /console ffxglow 1.

Hope this helps.

It used to be a setting called projected textures or something like that. Be careful about turning it to low though. It shows stuff like fire and poison in the ground. So you need to be able to see that to move out of it.

you should try FF14
have fun with that seizure

on topic tho you can set it to classic settings
i think its 4 on that 10 scale on graphic settings

as for particular effects you can try removing some options until you see what you like

I can’t tell if you were replying to me or not, but if you were: ‘ffxglow’ isn’t the same thing as projected textures.

Nah. I was just letting the op know about the projected texture setting.

Honestly i dont even know if it is still an adjustment. I am able to run everything max now because classic graphics are kinda dated. But back in the day i had a slow cpu and i turned everything to minimun and it was then that i found out what projected textures affects.

He is claiming he doesnt like so much spell animation effects. So if that is still an option it could help with ground aoe graphics.

Since the last update, I am occasionally getting ground graphics that look layered. Like one layer of ground is floating above the other layer when I move. Only happens while moving. Noticed in MGT and Shadowmoon valley. Any ideas? Started on May 12th. I have a GTx 3060 Ti.

No. But i do recall some issues with ground graphics going on back in beta. Some issues carried over into launch. It was mostly noticeable in nagrand. It was an issue with dx12 if i recall correctly.
