The tried and true, “I’ll swipe if you ban GDKP argument!”
Where does that money in GDKPs come from? Swipers. So how does that reduce RMT? It doesn’t. You might not be buying as much gold, but that doesn’t mean others aren’t. It’s just that you’re collecting their illegal gold secondhand.
If people aren’t farming for their legitimate gold right now, why would they suddenly start doing so if GDKPs are unbanned? The answer is they won’t. So that gold still comes from RMT. But on top of that you’ve now opened up a new expense. A bidding war between entitled whales as to who can swipe the most to buy the best gear in the game. That’s great for the carriers in these GDKPs who get an even bigger pot of gold. But that gold came from RMT.
And on top of that…what about the people who aren’t running in those gdkps and getting a share of those pots? They fall further and further behind. Especially with an even bigger flood of illegal gold being shoved into the economy. So now they can’t afford anything. Those people now feel even more pressure to buy gold. Or they abandon their guilds and do gdkps themselves. Or just be a swiper and be the one carried. This is why the loot system takes over servers. Either you partake, swipe, or quit the game.
GDKPs increase RMT. That is a fact. The only question is how much. On these megaservers where it’s ‘biggest whale’ vs ‘biggest whale’, I would say a massive amount.
No one ever does this according to gdkpers ![]()
Just little old me personally saw that happen to several guilds in TBC. Everyone saw this happen. Blizzard saw it happen. GDKPs are guild destroyers.
“No, no no. Everyone does them on alts!!” is what people like that lying gnome proclaim.
And then he completely reverses that argument when you point out that Anniversary (where gdkps are banned) is thriving (“people are playing on alts!!” he’ll say) and that MoP (where gdkps are allowed) is nosediving (“no one plays on alts” he’ll say).
There is NO consistency in any pro-gdkp argument.
You lift up a rock, the rats will scramble
Swiping is going to be a thing regardless if you have GDKP or not. There is no difference in prices on the AH without GDKP and with GDKP if you compare Anni to Era. They are essentially the same. Blizzard is not making an honest effort to remove the bots to prevent swiping from occurring.
There is zero harm with adding a fresh server during Pre-Patch with GDKP allowed. Let the consumers choose what they want. I am pretty confident Nightslayer would fall off and the new server would shoot up in popularity. If you find a problem with this you likely know the pro-GDKP argument is right.
There is literally zero pvp in classic wow lmao.
So prices are the same when comparing servers with 6k population to servers with 30k population?
You are literally showing gdkps cause inflation ![]()
Contradicts himself in the same paragraph ![]()
There would be 0 harm adding in a server that allowed botting. Do you think they should? Just let the players play how they want ![]()
This is really the only accurate thing you said. But what you need to understand is that the Classic team is doing what they can. The devs don’t have the power to hire GMs to actually enforce the rules. That’s up to the bean counters. What they can do is ban a loot system that’s rampant with RMT. It’s unfortunate that the Megaservers negates those gains, since they’re built for gold sellers. But it would be far worse with GDKPs.
There’s plenty of servers were GDKPs are allowed. You can always go play on them.
And I’m not arguing that the population wouldn’t drop. Blizz could open a server with vendors where you can just buy tier gear with gold. Players will flock to them. Does that mean it’s good for the game? Players are lazy and entitled. Especially the Classic playerbase.
You’re quite the interesting individual. An officer of an LC raid maybe?
Fingers crossed they release a new server with GDKP unbanned. If Nightslayer flops in population with a surge going to the new server I will consider myself as the victor. You’re clearly against GDKP while I am for GDKP in an environment where botting isn’t prevented. In an ideal gaming environment the GM’s would be living people that sit on popular routes to ban them instantly and no GDKP’s.
Private servers have vendors with gear but they aren’t popular until just before an expansion release so people can sharpen their arena skills. GDKP’s cause a high volume of efficient, quick raids. STAX was amazing as you could raid any time you wanted on any day. Did you have a retail job where your schedule changes? GDKP’s were great for you. Did you miss a raid because you had to attend something IRL? GDKP’s were great for you.
So you’ve considered yourself a loser for 2 years? ![]()
In this argument I was referring to.
I think the main reason they won’t do a fresh is they can’t sell any boosts on a fresh realm.
Great but not needed to clear content unless you’re a sweaty nerd.
Take a shower, I can smell you through the computer.
Yeah… this is the actual problem.
Once again you don’t need this to clear content.
I got them for less than 10g a stack 2 days ago.
Take another shower.
To sum it all up. Y’all care too much about min maxing in an almost 21 year old game. The saddest part is that TBC is around the corner and y’all are still obsessed. PVE andies…
not much point when the gold sellers will be selling before you even hit 70 on a fresh server and the fresh chasers will buy lol
or like the wrath freshes they go back to their old server when they get bored and pop tanks then the server dies
I agree with everything you said; however, if you want a decent 1-night clear guild that clears in 2 hours you’re expected to use all these consumes.
Lazerwar - Fresh TBC wouldn’t be to avoid inflation it would be to render it not noticeable if you GDKP. I never worried about gold in TBC or WOTLK when I ran multiple GDKP’s per week. I had so much gold that I didn’t know what to with. There was zero reason to swipe.
I have called some of these people… gamer words we’ll say that.
Banning GDKP’s doesn’t promote community building. A majority of guild I’ve raided with (or filled for) is a ghost land unless they’re doing a raid.
You are rmting in those gdkps ![]()
Being paid in rmt to help others rmt is rmting ![]()
You have no clue what RMT is then. That doesn’t fit the definition of RMT. Could you receive dirty gold from a split? Sure. You can receive dirty gold from selling enchants, selling stuff on the auction house, selling a green in Elwynn, selling goods on trade chat. Receiving dirty gold doesn’t mean you are RMT’ing.
