TBC Classic Servers Closing - Refund Guild Bank Fees

Since servers are closing down, we’re being forced to empty our guild banks. We’re losing the gold spent on the bank tabs, and we’ll have to spend it again if we’re to open up a new guild bank on our destination server. I put in a support ticket. The GM responded with the following:

Game Master Urndanorm here. Thank you for getting back to us.

When it comes to in game gold expenses like Guild Bank Tabs, Armor Repair, and other non-item service related costs, Customer Support cannot provide a refund of what was spent in game.

While Game Masters can’t directly affect this kind of change into the game, we can pass along any ideas for improvement to the folks who actually program and design the game. I am going to provide this to them as a resolution to this ticket, but if you have any other ideas, or want to elaborate on any concept that you think needs it, it’s a great idea to post on the forums, or use the in game suggestion function to submit that directly.

I hope this helps. If you need assistance with anything else, please do not hesitate to let us know and we’ll be glad to address any concerns.

I hope you have a great day, please take care.

Please refund the gold spent on these tabs to those GMs who’re active and being forced to transfer.

Technically, we aren’t being forced to transfer.

Blizz is just deleting our characters along with our guilds, and guild banks, if we don’t.

No, they won’t delete the characters. They’re gonna move them to a server of their choice if we don’t transfer.

Guilds and guild banks are being nuked, however.

I don’t think that’s correct.

However, I am unable to count to ten without taking my shoes off.

Technically no one is forced to do anything, they just might cease to live if they refuse.

Seconded.

I hope that you didn’t direct your disappointment due to Blizzard’s unreasonable behavior toward the CSR who answered your ticket.

Those folks are doing the Devil’s work and doing it with a smile. :smiling_imp:

Do you ever get tired of the pedantry?

No. Do you?

No.

why do you deserve to be given special treatment just because you chose to play on a dead server? i had to restart when i changed realms and factions, as did a bunch of others when they did that due to no faction change, but we didn’t get refunded our gold that we spent once we ended up having to abandon our characters.

It wasn’t a dead server when I rolled there day 1 of Classic.

and i had friends who “were totally going to make this their main game and do lots of raiding once we hit max level and have all these plans and stuff” and then quit after a month or so after i put in time to level on a faction i didn’t want to so i could play with them.

Would a hug help, friend?

I’m glad to see that you’re familiar with reductive logic.

Heartseeker was alive and well for most of TBC. I’ve been on it since it opened.

I’m not surprised this is past tense.
