How do you guys feel about TBC having an influence on the Wow token value? It went from 118k to 195k in a week and I’m kind of pissed about it since I had about 160k on 2 different realms and just had to pay real money because of a different game’s economy.
I know boohoo I had to pay real money yeah I can afford it, it still feels dirty that a different game has any say on it though.

ackshually, doesn’t this belong in the tbc sectshion of the forums?
If there was a separate token for TBC and Retail, then yes. But, that’s not the case.

As long as the token can be switched to battle.net currency, many things outside the game can affect the price. People might want to use their WOW gold to buy the next COD release. Heck, you can even use your token purchase to support your favorite COD or Overwatch esports team in the shop.

How do you know TBC caused it? How do you know it wasn’t Final Fantasy XIV and its 50 level free trial, with unlimited game time and critically acclaimed expansion pack, “Heavensward?”

Supply and Demand is how WoW token price changes.
People wanted TBCC Deluxe, so they bought tokens with gold and the gold price skyrocketed.
Any blizzard product with value will inflate the token price, because you can convert tokens to bnet balance.
It’s going to happen with Diablo, overwatch 2 and whatever else. It’s normal and expected.
Sounds like more gold is being taken out of the economy as a result. Working as intended.
Yeah I’m just peeved that its called a “WoW token” and that it originally was for WoW the same way Wildstar C.R.E.D worked.
The gold just moves from one player to another, nothing is removed with tokens beyond cash.
The amount of gold you pay for a token is not the same amount a token seller receives from the AH.
It’s the fact people aren’t playing for the prices.
as someone who sells, not buys, tokens?
it’s awesome. I think the token gold amount should absolutely favor the person spending IRL dollars.

The seller gets whatever they listed it for, and the price is usually fairly stable.
Anyone who listed right before the TBCC Deluxe was announced might have received less, but generally it’s a fairly even exchange.
The AH doesn’t get a cut like other things sold.
What a winning situation for the company though, pump a deluxe edition, inflate the price “potentially artificially aswell” and watch tryhard guild apes pay hundreds of Tokens with real money.
Atleast TBC Classic is in the same universe as retail WoW.
When the price of tokens went up because of Call of Duty’s new game, now that was a situation in which you should’ve been upset.
Yup, it sucks retail players have to pay more for the token because of classic.
Don’t think I played Wow when that happend but it sounds like bullcr*p
yes I am not really happy with that. They claimed classic wouldn’t affect retail but it sure the heck even makes it harder to keep playing.
I’m hoping the price hits 250k.
