TBC Classic Arena will have retail-style rating locks

Two pieces had rating requirements tho. It’s clearly different

Yea, not taking time to understand what I already know. If you don’t like it then don’t play it.

S3 had wep/shoulders, s4 had most main set pieces (looks like they’re going with s4 style).

What’s your thoughts on the changed mmr system?

Season 1 and 2 had no rating locks.

Season 3 and 4 had TBC rating requirements. i.e., ~1850 for the weapon and ~2k for the shoulders.

The rating locks they want to apply are RETAIL style and are NOT what was in TBC.

Unless I’m reading it wrong the only thing rating gated in s4 was shoulders and weapon?

They are using the wrath system.

Its better this way. In BC it didn’t feel like they had a real mmr system tbh, felt like you played people with the same rating so if you started a new team you just crushed people until your cr went up. Imagine people complaining about playing vs “boosters” then…

This is why people ignore you btw, you are wrong and won’t even take the time to figure out why because you don’t understand the changes. To say TBC will have the same rating and system as it once has is wrong they are using SL.

Not only is it different but lets take a look at this.

If you and I were playing TBC back in the day and wanted our weapon at 1850 we have access too the other Arena PvP gear and would make a team Que it up and casually go from 1500 to 1850 to snag our Arena Weps.

Now at the start of S1 where there was no rating there is rating on everything, so now we not only don’t have access to other Arena gear to make a push to get our 1850 weapons but the big slap in the face is they are using SL rating system. So we got to make an Arena team with with NO Arena Gear and go from ZERO a big fat 0 to 1850 to get our weapons :man_facepalming: :joy:

It isn’t like TBC experience at all. We went from a casual afternoon of playing with friends to get Arena gear too the SL grind and Rating system promoting boost.

Oh lol. Now I’m confused think I’ll just turn off my brain now

No need to turn your brain off just ignore people that don’t understand what is going on. Just read the actual TBC forums to understand and don’t listen to some guy who isn’t paying attention who plays Retail. We have TBC forums for a reason, it’s for the people that don’t play Retail, like myself.

Reason I read this thread was TBC was in the name and I am here to play TBC, not retail. However they are making TBC into retail so people have the right to be bummed out.

Glad the ignore feature still works, you can lead a horse to water…If you know what I mean. I would suggest using it was well it alleviates the confusion from people that won’t even read threads or the changes.

There really isn’t anything to be confused about. I mean, you’re listening to abomb here…

Not that I’m going to play TBC dedicatedly, but seeing rating tied progression for retail at first glance felt good because there was more of a reward structure in place. Then after looking at the massive gear disparity, the upgrades, and finally the conquest acquisition rate which players will be dealing with, it completely damaged every ounce of enthusiasm I had towards SL. Now with the boosting which has been taking place, it makes it even messier.

They should just give us 1 set of honor and 1 set of conquest and call it a day and that alone will improve the state of PvP by multifold.

You’re forgetting he’s a clown. Its really simple, they are using the S4 TBC gearing system.

Rating requirements on gear isn’t what is destroying retail. Its the item lvl disparity between the fully upgraded set (why did they do this upgrade crap) vs the “honor” set that makes it feel so terrible for alts / fresh toons.

The team rating requirements will put a stick in the wheel of boosting won’t it? I’d assume raid carries would be more lucrative than 2.2k carries.

If you are referring to me I’m only 43, I was in my 20’s when I started the fun of TBC. Not sure if I would call it a Boomer game. However I’d suggest not listening to any Retail players since that rots your brain. Read the TBC forums instead. There is a reason why we wanted TBC in the first place. To enjoy the best PvP WoW expansion again, not be subjected to the dumpsterfire that is the last several expansions.

Still gonna be way better than retail, so take solise in the fact that us little piggies will suffer while you flourish

Very True, Retail won’t be good until they stop releasing unfinished expansions that they eventually make playable for 1 patch towards the end. I’m sure by 9.2 you might have something to work with only to have it dismantled for the next expansion :joy: :man_facepalming:

SL could of been the hard reset of this tactic WoW needed. The level squish, they could of thrown out ALL borrowed power systems, reintroduced Talent trees and actual class design but they didn’t  Hang in there though and make sure to take a break from the insanity that is retail and have some fun in TBC.
